Sounds like the rear drum seal on the drum its self is bad . Have to remove the drum and replace Pt # 279408 . When the seal is bad , dryer gets hot , right up in front of the console , in the center .

I try to set up an account, but all get is my wife's

You will most likely just need to sign out of your wife's account and then sign back in using your own account. The web browser may be remembering the last account that was signed in to.

Give that a try and if it doesn't help, reply with a comment and I will help troubleshoot further.

Hope that helps!

How do I separate the top half of the agitator from the bottom on a Whirlpool 8525079?

if I remember correctly I think this type has to be removed from the bottom of machine? on some models the top separates when u remove the special type bolt, I think it has a square top made of plastic? on some models u will need a tool called a spammer wrench runs about 15 bucks.

Sounds like it could be a bad Hot Surface Igniter, Check to see if you see glowing, if not, have the Igniter replaced.

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

Dryer warm but not hot, long dry times

some times there are multiple heating elements in there and if one is out it does not get as hot. another simpler place to start would be to make sure your line is clear of debries all the way from dryer to out doors. this is a good idea any way since lint build up can cause the occasional house fire.

Whirlpool Flat cooktop burner not heating up

Try cleaning the knobs. I did the same thing you did (turning the circuit breaker off but that did not solve the problem.

My wife just tried turning the knobs and that seemed to work. It appears that one of the knobs may have been so sticky that the though it's in the OFF position it thinks it's still ON.
