Trace the water supply line looking for kinks behind the fridge, also check the water supply valve and make sure water flows when disconnected from the unit.

Top ice maker in Samsung RFG298AAPN does not make ice. No water cycles into icemaker. Icemaker has been reset, nothing after 2 days. Should I replace the icemaker or the water valve.

On these models I've noticed that the temperature in the ice maker area warms up due to a ball of ice forming inside the freezer compartment ice maker fan that has vent going to the ice maker. Until it is found whether or not that ball of ice is blocking the vent and fan you won't be able to go to the next step. The switch on the ice maker will test the ice maker by filling it with water and rotating the Forks that dump the ice into the ice bin Appliance 911 Sea Breeze

Is it OK for ice thickener sensor touch water on ice maker

Yes, it has to touch the water. As the ice builds up the thickness sensor moves up and turns of the refrigeration and turns the heater on.

    Ice maker not making ice

The icemaker line is the smaller line (1/4") located in the back of the machine that runs from the valve to the filll tube. To test the valve and icemaker you have to manually advance the ice maker and wait for it to call for water with the 1/4" line disconnected from the valve. You can do this by getting a jumper wire, removing the cover of icemaker, which you jsut grab and pull off, and using the jumper wire insert one end of the wire into the cirle marked "M" and the other in the cicle marked "N". Leave there until you hear a click and sometimes see a little spark behind the modular head wheel. Also if you see ice in the maker that hasn't dumper and the teeth of the icemaker are facing any direction other than two o clock position, the icemaker is bad. Before doing any of the above though check the fill tube to be sure the no ice is blocking water from coming in.

Ice maker not producing ice. Tried everything in the Troubleshooting section of Users Manual. Replaced water filter. The front water dispenser is working.

the most likely thing would be a bad water valve.try to reset the ice maker and watch to see if the tray fills up the fill tube could also be blocked with frozen water.the last thing is simply a bad ice maker.

ICE MAKER QUIT MAKING ICE ON MY WHIRLPOOL FRIDGE

I had a Whirlpool Model GD5SHAXNS in which the icemaker quit working about the same time (3 years old). I had water out the dispenser, I found that it was the icemaker itself failed not calling for water to fill it. I replaced it with a icemaker on-line for about $100 and problem fixed. I have been told his is a common problem with the icemaker in this model ref.

    Icemaker

Do you hear it trying to draw water into the ice tray? If so, there might be an internal problem you can't fix yourself. especially since the fridge is dispencing water. Is the arm inside the ice maker pushe down? This is what tells the ice maker to fill and make the ice.

Let me know if this helps.

The ice maker on my refrigerator Model GSS22JETACC is not making ice. The on button is on.

check the water valve to the ice maker it will be the one with the 1/4 inch line unplug the wire connector to the valve and use a cheater cord to apply power to the valve if you get water into the icemaker cavity then the icemaker is the problem

if no water comes into the ice maker then remove the 1/4 inch line from the valve apply power to the valve if water comes out of the valve then the fill line into the icemaker is frozen unthaw it
if no water comes out of the valve replace the valve
