Question about Kodak EasyShare DX7630 Digital Camera

1 Answer

"High camera temperature"

When turned on it reports "high camera temperature (camera will be shut down)" then it shuts down. This is in winter even in a cold / 18degC room. Anyone know how the temperature is sensed?? Is it via the batteries? I think the third terminal on the battery pack is a temp sensor for when its charging.

This worked for me: just hit the bottom hard with your palm and the top and sides, not the front or back. After 3 hits, the date screen came back on and it was fixed. This was after the other two solutions I found on this site failed, namely pushing the shutter down before the message comes on or blowing into the camera slot with the memory card removed.

Hey, this really worked. I smacked mine on a desktop (wood) and it started working again. This ranks right up there with duct tape and WD-40. I didn't even realize it had gotten hot, but I had been giving it a pretty good workout before the breakdown.

Wow!!! We have been trying to fix this camera for our son for ages, and this worked. I just banged the bottom of the camera into my palm 3 times and turned it on. "If I woke tomorrow morning with my head sewn to the carpet I couldn't be more surprised than I am right now." Thank you for posting this solution!!

Battery Temperature High message and camera shuts down

I would call Nikon and explain the problem. Get a name and Email address and send a nice Email confirming what they told you on the phone. Most companies are very willing to repair battery problems for free because of liability issues.

Projector heating up and bulb shuts down

The ambient temperature in the room is to high.
Try lowering the room temperature. If that doesn't work
get a small fan and place it near the projector to provide
extra cooling. The projector is running border line on
high temperature and just needs a little extra cooling.

Assuming you have the battery and memory card in the camera, turn the camera on by pressing down the two buttons on the top left of the camera together at the same time.

Z710..after a short time..warning says ''high camara temperature'' and shuts down

That means that your camera will shut down immediately so it doesn't burn out. Are you in an environment where outside temps are super hot, or leaving the camera in the sun or vehicle too long?
It can also happen if the camera is subjected to different dramatic temperature changes, like taking pics in central air conditioning and then go outside in the extreme heat.

Furnace burner turns off and on

The furnace is likely over heating and the high temp. safety is shutting it down. It then cools and starts again. Things to check: Filter, Blower wheel and indoor A/C coil. If any or all are dirty you are limiting air flow and need to clean them.

That is usually the cable to the flash has come loose. Open the back of the camera and check. It is on the top left of the camera. Reseat the connector and you will be fine.

When I turn the camera on the following message appears- high camera temperature, camera will shut off. The camera is a Kodak easyShare Z710

Have Kodak Easyshare V1253 with same, "high temp.," error then shutdown. Kodak batt. showed 25% charged. Charged batt 100% & temp. error went away. Batt. internal shows camera if batt. too hot. Try new batt.

Refrigerator won't work after winter shut down at camp

This is a problem we frequently run into in a situation such as yours. Refrigerators are meant to be used in continuous operation. Using them seasonally will let the high side condenser tubing, internal to most cabinets, rust through and loose the refrigerant charge.
