Hello! There are several causes to camera not detected error. Are you sure your camera is installed at all? Let's see because we have to uninstall it anyway: Start>Control Panel>Uninstall a Program See if your camera is in the list
If yes: click on your camera name in the list and then click Uninstall/Change. When done, restart your computer. Please, make sure your camera model is supported by your Operating System: 1. See which is your Operating System: Start>double click Computer>Properties and the first in the list is "Windows Edition" under which you can see which is your your Operating System. (Also run Windows Update/System Update which u can find by typing one of those into Start search box+Enter. If any updates available, install them and restart computer.) 2. See your camera System Requirements: go to your camera's manufacturer's website, Click Products, choose your product and model, and they see your camera System Requirements. Which Operating Programs your camera works with? Do you use one of those?
If yes, then your camera can work with your Operating system and you do not have to change it.
If not, then your camera cannot work with your Operating System. Sometimes it works if we run update camera driver(only after installing the camera): Start>right click Computer>Manage>Device Manager and find your camera in the list, right click on it, click Update. When update done, and if updated, restart your computer. Go to Installing a Webcam.
If you do not find your camera in Control Panel>Uninstall a Program, then your camera is not installed on your computer. Go to Installing a Webcam.
Installing a Webcam: Insert camera driver CD, plug your camera if prompted, run Driver icon from the CD, Continue/Allow, and finish installing. Unplug your camera and restart your computer. I would also recommend checking for camera driver update (see above). When update finished, and installed updates, then restart your computer.
Presuming that after trying out to format the memory card is not working out I would request you to please remove the memory card then either using an holder if required connect to your laptop or the PC. Most of the present day computers have the slot for the memory card. As you insert into the computer it will show detection, if not reinsert. Once it is detected, click on the memory device detected in the my computer window , right click for foramt and do so. If the memeor card is not detected or if files are not opening then take a search on the device and open. Delete or format as requried. I hope this help you out. Good day
ok this problem is caused by the wrong drive installed for the Crystal Eye Web cam.
even thoguh the camera shows that it is installed, the application looks for a specific one for the model you have. Unfortunatly Acer used 3 models of the camera without telling you which you have and calls all of them "crystal eye web cam"
go to acer.com select their support section and download all driver and applications available for the camera. you will need to try then 1 at a time til you get the one that works for your system
Make sure the camera is on and pc is selected on the camera screen when connected to the computer. You will need to have PC highlighted and select ok on the camera as this starts the camera and computer to communicate. Once communication established the LCD screen of the camera goes dark and the computer should generate a removable disk drive. Check the System Tray (lower right corner beside the PC time) for Safely Remove Hardware. When you click on it, it should read "Safely Remove USB Mass Storage Device Drive ?:" If you dont see that, then check the Device Manager to see if the camera is recognized as USB Mass Storage Device. The camera uses the driver usbstor.
It probably isn't anything your friend did. There is a conflict somewhere between your driver for your camera, your software and possibly an update somewhere along the way.
Try these two things to see if the computer is detecting the device and let me know what the results.
1. With your camera turned off plug it into the camera.
2. Make sure that your USB port is a 2.0 if not you may need to by an adapter to give it a little extra "boost"
3. Make sure that the camera is not in capture mode that it is in transfer mode.
4.Now go to "My Computer" pay attention to what is there then turn the camera on.
Has the camera shown up?
(be sure to turn the camera off, right click, safely remove, then unplug)
If that does not work try this -
1.Go to Start- Accessories- Device Manager
Im not sure how it will show up here it just depend on where it was installed originally. So we are going to expand 2 diffrent places.
+Disk Drives, click the plus to expand it
3. Plug in the camera wait a second to let the computer recgonize the device then turn it on.
Has anything changed on your screen?
