How to fix Time-of-day clock stopped

Is it actually stopped or does it return to a default time when the laptop is unplugged for a while?
I assume you have already reset the clock, it's located in control panel under Date & Time. You can also set the clock in the BIOS.
If the time does not advance at all, your motherboard will have to be replaced as the clock chip is not replaceable.
If the clock just needs to be reset every time you use the laptop, you might try leaving it plugged in overnight to recharge the clock battery. If that doesn't help, the clock battery is bad.

I keep setting my clock and it goes right back to the original time which is 2 hrs. off. Its not my battery because I keep it plugged in all the time. Now I can't find the setting for the clock...why does...

The time will change automaticall if the Time services are running automatically. Do the followings.

Press Windows(logo)key + R.
Type services.msc and press enter
On the right hand side, look for Windows Time and double click on it.
Click on Stop and set the Startup Type: Disable.

Set the Time, restart the Notebook, the time will not change

Check for proper BIOS update, particular for your laptop and install.

My time & date stops. Have to reset them everytime.

Computers use a button type battery to keep the internal clock running when powered off. It's time to open it up and replace the button battery ;-)

My laptop says Time -of -day clock stopped when i turn it on

It sounds like the battery on your computer is dying, and the battery cannot keep the clock running. If Dell's warranty is still valid, contact Dell, to get your computer fixed/replaced.

Date reverting back to 2002

Somewhere inside your laptop is a small watch battery. Refer to the manual to find it's location. This battery powers CMOS. Find this battery and replace it with a new one and it will solve your problem.

Toshiba Satellite M105-S3041 clock problem

Chances are your CMOS battery is dead, it can be replaced inexpensively if you do it yourself. After taking the laptop apart, locate the battery, it looks like a large watch battery. When you remove it, note the battery type and run to your nearest battery store for a replacement.
