Question about Pioneer Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

I have a larger powerboat. What can cause my installed car stereo's to keep blowing the output IC's. This does not happen untill after starting the engine. I have talked to tech's that say I have a grounding issue. No problem with all the other electronics on the boat. Have replaced the speakers and speaker wires.

Could be a voltage spike from the engine electrical system. I doubt the grounding issue. The following link contains a description of a 12 volt surge and spike protection module from radio shack. http://support.radioshack.com/support_auto/doc71/71514.pdf

My 1998 chevy dually has a 7.4 engine and it keep blowing out alternators

Best course: Install a LARGER CAPACITY aftermarket alternator. Also, if you have a car stereo system with a subwoofer, MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING AT LEAST A 2.5 FARAD CAPACITOR AT THE INPUT OF YOUR AUDIO AMPLIFIER. (Not using a capacitor with high-wattage sound systems can literally blow out alternators!)

Tailights,Dashboard Lights Fuse Keeps Blowing Out

One thing to check and I have come across this a couple of times is that some factory stereos used a black wire for the stereo illumination, if you have wired the black (earth) from the new unit to this wire it will cause the fuse to blow, disconnect the earth from this wire and wire it directly to the vehicle.

Pioneer DJM 600 mixer keeps blowing ic 557 fuse on power supply board

I repair DJM 600 for many years. :) The reason for the burning of IC 557 (+8V H 600mA ) is invalid amplifier for headphones!!!
Replace IC 310 and IC 312 (in big mainboard), and replace
IC 557with original fuse 600mA
!!!!!CHECK YOUR HEADPHONES!!!!!! This is the cause burning amps.!!!!!

My RCA RS2622 sound stopped working.

I'll need to look up your specific model to be sure, but I believe that the speaker outputs come from an amp pac. The headphones are driven by an opamp IC. The outputs are blown on this. If you can solder, you should be able to repair this. I'll look up the parts required and get back to you.
