My son rolled it over and it had gas in the oil. He did run it and drive it home. He said it sounded and ran fine. I've changed the oil and filter and it has a pretty good knock. It won't stay running either. Am I looking at internal and expensive?

Possible oil sending unit problem.

it sounds like a faulty sending unit the only way to know for sure is to install a mechanical gauge and measure pressure. or just replace the sender. it is not wise to drive it and just assume it is nothing major. if it is a mechanical problem will cost a lot more if you lock the engine up

Check the fuel pressure regulator. generally "failure" position is full open which will richen up the fuel mixture. also check vacuum line to the regulator for cracks and good connection.
