After running a Shop in Philadelphia for several years I have to Say, Cerfer39 is dead on here. besides the inherent road noise that interferes with the sound quality there is something inherently difficult about putting a sound system on a Harley. The engine vibration degrades the sound from any speaker that is not isolated. Getting that kind of isolation on a bike is not going to be easy. Keeping it is going to be even more difficult. the type of vibration created here is known to rip 16 gauge steel battery straps. Not much on the market today is going to stand up to isolation needs and still not tear apart. Besides the helmet systems are incredible at delivering quality sound, and communication from bike to bike... added Luxury!!!

Hi 1 2fade,

The market in Motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson pushes for helmet speakers. You cannot possibly get good sound when riding with externally mounted speakers. Only when sitting at an event will give you decent sounds. You probably already know this. I suggest pioneer Marine grade equipment, and a premium brand of Marine grade. I also suggest you gett a Helmet set so you can enjoy great music while riding if you dont already have it.

No bass from Bose AM 15 Sub

Sub will only work in surround mode, not stereo mode. Also source must have sub component (5.1, 7.1, 9.1 etc) If your system was transmitting sub signal before, be sure you have chosen a mode which includes a sub signal.

Hi G.R., and the usual suspects are:
1. Oil tank/pan underfilled.
2. Faualty low oil pressure switch.

How do you replace a ignigtion lock cylinder on a 1998 dodge

NOTE: The Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system must be disarmed before removing any components in the area of the air bag system. Failure to do so may cause accidental deployment of the air bag, resulting in unnecessary SIR system repairs and/or personal injury.

Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable from the battery.
Allow the SIR system capacitor to discharge for at least 2 minutes, before performing any removal procedures. The air bag system is now disabled.

Remove the key cylinder (ignition lock).
Using a No. 10 Torx® tamper proof bit, remove the ignition switch mounting screw. Depress the ignition switch retaining tab and carefully pry the ignition switch from the steering column.
Disconnect the electrical connectors from the ignition switch and remove the switch from the vehicle.

Be sure the ignition switch is in the RUN position and the actuator shaft in the ignition lock housing is in the RUN position.
Reconnect the electrical connectors to the ignition switch.
Carefully install the ignition switch, making sure the ignition switch snaps over the retaining tabs.
Install and tighten the ignition switch mounting screw.
Install the key cylinder (ignition lock). Complete the installation by reversing the removal procedures.
Reconnect the negative battery cable.
Check switch operation.

Good Luck and hope this helps

Srs warning light is staying on

Supplemental restraint system warnig light should be checked by dealer to make sure that it is not just a reset problem.Ask the dealer if disconnecting the battery could have caused this. People who install stereos usually don't have factory training on air bags When the srs light is on the air bag system is non functioning. Please have it checked.
