Evinrude outboard hard to start

Evirude 90hp V4 1989 is hard to start.Seems to be flooding fires up but then dies about 5 or 6 times before it actually gets going.Once going no problems until u stop again.This happens wether it is hot or cold

If it is flooding then you need to remove the carbs and check your float level and see if your needle and seat are worn out. If you hold your carb upside down with the bowl off then your float should be level straight accross. If it is not straight accross then you can bend the tang by the needle until it is level.

Dies and wont start

Actually in most cases on these GMs with the 3.8, it's because they're not getting any spark, and also cause the engine to become flooded with fuel, so even harder to startup. Most 3.8s from GM had a defect with the crank pulley which caused it to come apart and loose the tooth ring and hinder the crank position sensor which is needed for the ECU to calculate when it needs to fire the plugs. I've seen this time and time again. So first place to check is the crank pulley and crank position sensor for damage and/or wear and tear. If everything seems fine on that end, message me back and we'll try a few other things.

After my 1991 ford f250 with a 5.0 engine warms up it acts like the timings off

Could be several things.
If the ignition module on the side of the distributor is failing, it can cause the plugs to fire at the wrong times.
If the distributor cap is faulty it can do the same thing.
If one of the injectors is leaking, it can fill one of the cylinders with fuel when you shut the engine off. It would act like the engine is flooded when you try to start it.

Hi my rodeo 2.6lLrodeo floods when trying to start i changed the fuel pressure reg but still it floods any ideas

You likely have a sticking injector. Not uncommon for this set up. Pull all the spark plugs and allow to dry or replace depending on their condition. Once that is done, try to start the car. Likely it will fire for at least a moment. Once it dies or does not start, do not try to fire again. Remove all te plugs and look for the one/s saturated with fuel. Replace that injector/s.

Have been having issues starting bike. Engine seems to be flooding for no apparent reason. e.g., this has happened multiple times.Started it today ( idling little low round 0.5k revs), let it run for 5...

A flooding problem is usually due to a problem with the foat and the needle/seat in the carburettor. This could be sticking open and allowing the engine to flood. Also, alowing an air cooled engine to run stationary for extended periods builds up considerable localised heat and this could be causing fuel to percolate and flood the engine. Back fire could be coming from a sticking valve - from the heat and a carbon build-up?

But first check the floats and needle and seats in the carb an shut off the fuel tap after shutting down the macnine.

what kind of saw is it? and if this is the problem u might have over primed the button on the side thats part of getting the saw started and maby flooded the carb and could be the reason why its hard to get it goin. Doesnt take much to flood a small motor. Oh and almost forgot do u have the right mixure of ur fuel? for my saw its 40:1.

it does sound like the relay is working part time and not all the might want to go ahead and replace it just to find out for sure.

Sounds like your fuel pump is going out on you. Check your fuel pressure. You should have 40 psi when the key is in "on" position. You should have no less than 5 psi under that when it's running.
