Hello

Do you get the "Oops! This link appears to be broken" error when you try to visit the IP cam via its DNS address, or do you get it elsewhere (and where)?

If you get it when trying to visit the camera with the DynDNS address you have purchased, ensure you do the following:

  1. Ensure your router has your new DynDNS settings saved (I believe you have done this but just make sure)
  2. Ensure your local cameras are working (visit them with the local address)
  3. Critical step: Make sure you have forwarded your ports to the camera in your router. For example, you can give your ipcam a port number of 6001 in your router's port forwarding page, and assign that port number to the IP address of the camera.
  4. Once that's done, open your Internet browser, type in your DNS address followed by the port number, something like this: http://myusername.dyndns.org:6001
Let me know how this goes, or if you need help with port forwarding because you will not be able to go to the ipcam using your DNS without first port forwarding it.

As a network administrator myself, I can continue to assist you. May I please ask that you do not rate my solution just yet if you still require my help, or I will not be able to get back to you.

Many thanks

To make sure that this Dyndns is being resolve by your ISP, if need you need to forward port for that particular device that will be using that dyndns service and then once its done make sure you can access that device remotely using your Internet IP from your router status page with a colon and the port number that the device is using...then if that is working fine you should be able to make the dyndns to work then....

It seems to be an issue with the user account you have with Dyndns. Make sure that you are registerd with Dyn dns and using proper link.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Hello, i setup a IP cam. Create an account on dyndns.org for the IP. But now when i type the given url i am linked to the setup of my Thomson router TG585 v8 What can I do? There is nothing else except...

Hi Sten -- There are several non-intuitive things you have to setup with any router and Dyndns to make this work.

On Dyndns you can setup your static or hardly every changing dynamic Internet (external - provided by your ISP) IP address in your Dyndns account settings (Not the internal NAT IP - 192.168.x.x address of the cam). if it changes more often you need a dyndns client.

On the router you have to setup port forwarding to the internal (NAT address ex:192.168.x.x) address of the camera including the port number -- or you could just create a DMZ (feature of many but not all routers) for the internal IP of the cam.

If you've done the above correctly you might want to check the troubleshooting sections at Dyndns.org located HERE and HERE.

Happy Networking and Thanks for using Fix Ya.

"oops the link appears to be broken"...while accessing facebook.

This is common problem. Make sure you type the web address correctly. Most of the times it happens because of invalid link typed in the address bar.
Also try to check your internet connection.Empty cache and browsing data. Hope this time you will be able to open facebook.

Oops! This link appears to be broken.

I saw your website and its showing contents of your FTP. Ask your administrator to disable "directory browsing" if you're using IIS/Windows Hosting. You should act fast since this is security risk; you're files are visible in the internet and some can be copied.

What also happened here was that the website was not properly configured to point to the right directory or the right default page.

Cannot access 192.168.0.1 to create a DMZ keep getting a oops!link appears to bhe broken on any ip address i try to enter on the address browser

go to command prompt and type in telnet 192.168.0.1 if it doesnt go through just reset the router and it will go through, since the router might have been assigned a different ip address. Make sure that you are using windows xp

DDNS with Belkin F5D7230-4

Hi ramwar,

The router is running a query on your DynDNS address and not finding it. You need to make sure that on DynDNS site that you've givin the router the exact and full address. As example. mbase.isa-geek.com would be a full address. On the router it has 3 boxes for the address. It's confusing, but it would look like this. Box 1 mbase box 2 would be isa-geek and box 3 would be .com.
Box 1 is for the name,
Box 2 is the domain
Box 3 is the ext.

Try that.

Good Luck

Mark

DDNS

Currently the only DDNS provider that the DI-604 support is DynDNS.org. When configuring these routers to work with DynDNS.org, please use members.dyndns.org as the Server Address.

Update DDNS automatically

Dynamic DNS (Domain Name Service) is a method of keeping a domain name linked to a changing (dynamic) IP address. With most Cable and DSL connections, you are assigned a dynamic IP address and that address is used only for the duration of that specific connection. To properly configure the DDNS feature follow the steps below: Step 1 Log into the web based configuration by typing in the IP address of the router (default:192.168.0.1) in your web browser. The username is admin (all lowercase) and the password is blank (nothing). Step 2 Click on the Tools tab and then click Misc. If you have the DI-614+ with firmware 2.30, click on Tools > Parental Control. Step 3 Enter the required information under Dynamic DNS: Server Address: Enter the IP Address or domain name of your DDNS server (IE members.dyndns.org). Host Name: Enter the Domain name that you registered with your DDNS service provider, (IE mydomain.dyndns.org). Username Password Step 4 Click Apply and then Continue to save your changes.
