Hi,

since you are seeing input level, try to record again with the level just reaching the maximum.

and where do you place the recorded output?

there is a possibility that the recorded signal passed through the recorder , but the problem is where did it go?

the recorded output is checked on your level tracks, what format have you tried recording? i mean is it mp3 or mp4 or wave?
some audio have copy rights too, especially the CD audio, cant just be recorded digitally, some do on analog audio, but on mp3, wave no
problem with the recording. try recording mp3 as sound track, if it can record mp3, need to convert your audio files that you want to record in mp3. you need an audio converter.

this is just a suggestion, if you are still having problem, please indicate the make and model of your recorder, include the type of audio you are recording and the software you are using.

hope i have helped you, thanks for using Fixya!

    hi,
if you have a computer , you can use your computer in lieu of the recording unit in your mixer,

still you can use your mixer as a playback mixer not a recording mixer, since Roland said it was a bad unit.

Ensure that the track button is solid red when recording.

Ensure that you are recording the right input channels on a track. see pages 130 to 165 on the manual.

Before you can record signals received by the VS-2400CD’s coaxial or optical digital IN
acks, you have to enable digital recording .

To enable digital recording:

1. Hold down SHIFT and press F4•UTILITY.
2. Press PAGE until “GLOBAL” appears above F2.
3. Press F2 (GLOBAL).
4. highlight the CD DIGITAL REC parameter if necessary.
5. Turn the Time/Value dial to select On.
The “Concerning Copyright” statement appears as a reminder of the laws
governing the digital copying of copyrighted materials. It also presents Roland’s
position on the SCMS digital recording copy-protection protocol.
6. After reading the statement, press ENTER/YES, or press EXIT/NO to suspend
activation of digital recording.
If you pressed ENTER/YES in Step 6, the VS-2400CD licensing agreement appears.
7. If you agree to the displayed terms, press ENTER/YES. If not, press EXIT/NO to
leave digital recording disabled.

Also read carefully Routing Input Signals to Input Channels at page 130 on user manual.

Good luck.

G.

The input levels of the left and right microphones are highly inequal, what can I do?

perhaps the left speaker is damaged
what i would do is load a known mp3 too the sdcard
and play it back on your unit

if its aok level wise
then the left mic has an issue
try an external input too the left mic
if it again records bad there is an issue with the input amp and alc circuit
if it records ok chances are the left electret mic has failed and will need replaced out usually these small mics have an amp built in then this output goes at line level to the input switched between line level in mic in or internal mic in as a mix....

With adobe audition 1.5 how do i get my voice to play back through edit view? Ive really been up all night trying to figure this problem out someone please explain step y step

First, be sure you see the audio track on "edit view". It shows the peak of the recording level. If it is a straight line, you have not recorded your voice. If the recording is there, you have to be sure your computer audio is set to play back through the speakers. If the recording is not there you have to set the computer to record from your input, either line or mic input. Set the level to the max. When you record you can see the input level on the two bars at the bottom of the screen. Double click on them to see the input level before you start recording. You want the level to be near "zero", at the far right. If the level is above "0" the peak indicators will turn red. You don't want red lights. Set the input level just below the red peak. Click on the red record button at the panel on the lower left of the screen. When you click the record button you may see a pop up that want you to set the recording parameters of the file. You have to make these selections before you can record. Once that is done, the record button will show the record position and audio track scroll across the screen. You will also see the level bars respond to the input. When finished recording click the stop button. You should then be able to play back the recording.
There are many adjustment and changes you can make to recorded files. The Adobe help files are very good explaining the features of the software. It is a very powerful audio system. Good luck and have fun with voice and music tracks.

Hallo i have cubase sx3 I can get my backing music onto track one via importing it from docs - no problem - how do i increase the volume on record as the tracks from vocals dont come out loud at all ,...

You must adjust the record level from the input device - i.e. mixer or soundcard. There is no input level control within Cubase. It is often the case, however that the problem lies with the backing track being too loud.

Having problems recording and playing back tascam dc-02 cf

I'm assuming you are plugging the left and right outputs from the karaoke machine into input A and B of the Tascam to record the stereo output of the Karioke. The Tascam works with mono only (you recreate the stereo mix at mixdown or when bouncing mono tracks together with the panning set). Therefore you should be assigning inputs A and B separately. You could press assign A and then the record button above track 1 and then press assign B and the record button above track 2. Then arm tracks 1 and 2 (by pressing record above each). When you then press play and record together you'll record input A onto track 1 and input B onto track 2.

Hope this helps.

Machine appears to record per instruction manual but will not play anything back and the instruction manual includes NOTHING on playback except to hit STOP when we're through recording, back up to the...

it appears to be recording but is it really?
when you are recording there are two levels you should see moving up and down on the screen. the input volume and the recording volume per track. dont forget to arm the track. tascam has a silly way to arm the track on some of there unit. its combination of buttons. something like hold down the record button and press the track arm button then release both. when youre ready to record press play.

Record, playback problem

Hi Nick,

The fuzz/white noise is a little confusing and it seems to be saying that you are recording something vs trying to record incorrectly and getting nothing at all. Anyway, despite that, I would try going over your recording steps first.

First off make sure your Hi-Z input is not set to the Hi-Z or guitar setting. It is possible your that MicroKorg is overloading the input and distorting. You should however have heard that in the headphones too, so I'm not so sure that's the problem. The next thing to check is to make sure your input is assigned to the track you expect to be recording on. (Press the input's button to check this. The select/record button over the track should flash).

Next make sure your track is armed for recording before you press 'play+record' (Record button above the track should light steady when recording).

Hope this helps.

Connect yamaha keyboard to tascam 2488 MKII

There are 8 inputs on the back. 4 of them support XLR type microphone connections, but also double as 1/4 inch and the remaining four are just 1/4 inch. These are all line level inputs and you can use any of them for a keyboard hookup. Typically you might leave the XLR inputs (A thru D) available for mics and take the next two (E and F) to use from your keyboards L and R outputs. Then just assign those inputs to two adjacent channels (tracks) or one of the stereo pairs, turn up the input levels for those inputs and the faders for those tracks and you'll be able to hear the keyboard playing through the 2488 (or whatever monitors/or stereo you have hooked up to it for monitoring). To record the keyboard simply arm whatever tracks you have those inputs assigned to for recording and record away.
