No sound on my3100c

Yellow ! in the device manager says my idt hd audio codec is enabled
but has not been started code(10), the sound has not worked since i had a new hard drive fitted m. young

First uninstall old sound driver from device manager or add remove program then install from here.

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it

click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll to sound video and game controllers you might see a yellow question exclamation mark? ! or a red X Right click to

reinstall drivers

click start control panel sounds and audio volume advanced speakers make sure you have selected the

(appropriate speakers) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there

click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it

I think i need a new sound card driver for my dell laptop. it currently has an IDT Audio device

IDT HD audio codec driver updated by windows updates. since this update i have no audio on my computer. It says device failed to start code 10 in control panel and the computer does not recognise any sound...


Hi,

Go to the device manager and right click on the device and select properties. In the driver tab select rollback driver. This will install the previous version of the driver. Hope this solves your problem.

Sound driver problem in compaq presario cq40 with winXP


update to service pack 3, then go to update driver in device manager and allow it to search the internet it will find the HD audio codecs from microsoft and install them.

Hi,

The simple and the only solution to this is reinstalling the sound card drivers.

Go to device manager > under sound video and game controllers
Right click on the IDT high def audio codec and uninstall it.

Also uninstall the connexant or th realtec audio driver
remember don't install the IDT codec back.. just reinstall the sound driver from the recovery manager > advance options > hardware driver installation.

Try and install the "Modem" first restart and then wait if it ask for a driver in your audio.

first uninstall any audio drivers
Use unidentified device drive program to identify your sound card
write name and number down do a search on internet for them
EG cmedia 35 drivers when located download for your operating system Vista or xp
install
