No, unfortunately the BIOS will need to be flashed. If your system is about 4 years old, then you probably are using INT13 BIOS which will recognize about 137 GB.

The flash will allow the BIOS routine to read the larger hard drives, possibly up to a terabyte. Also, you will probably be able to use faster RAM, fix any bugs in the system BIOS, and possibly other features.

Do you know how to flash your system BIOS? If you don't contact me by posting a response. I'll tell you how to do it step by step.

Yes you can. You only have to consider the type of drive that you have to purchase. If it is IDE, the wide flat wire or the SATA which has a narrow flat wire. Make sure you get the same type.

You can put a 160gb on it as is with no trouble, but should add ram to at least 1 gig to make better use of your system. Hope this helps:)

How much Hard disk my motherboard D845GVSR will support.

There's not really a limit to how big a harddisk you can support. The only thing that can restrict you is the connection, because, for obvious reasons, you can't connect a SATA disk to an old IDE board, but it seems like you're aware of that.

You can just buy any SATA HDD you want!

Maximum hard disk support

this hard drive size will work with your motherboard but the problem is the size will be detected only up to 130 GB or less, so if you will be using that size of hard drive you will just waste it.. so better use a 120 GB of hard drive or upgrade your motherboard so you can use a 250 GB.....

Hope that helps.............

250gb sata hard disk to 845 glad mother board

Hello all. I have the same issue. My MB is 845G [P4 2.4 Ghz] and SATA harddisk I need to install is Seagate 250 GB Baracuda with 3.0Gb/s interface, I belive which makes this HD as SATA II. So for this motherboard should I prefer PCI cards which support SATA II over the supports SATA I [these are cheaper].

Thanks so mcuh!!!

How much big HDD can i connect to my ASUS-CUBX-L motherboard?

The size of the drive that will be detected can vary on a number of things: bios version, and OS.

They will both "physically" work, but the full capacity may not be "seen".

The 160 should work fine, but the 320 may only "show" as a 250 or 300.

My best advice is to flash the bios to the latest, and start with the 160. Install your OS, and connect the 320 as a slave after the OS install, and check its properties.
