I cannot get it to shut off after I press the rd off button-it looks like it shuts off but when i release the button, it comes back on??

you CAN shut it down by pressing and releasing, (not holding,) the [power] button....then turn it back on.

If you truly wish to perform a 'reboot' or 'restart'; then it depends on WHICH Operating System you have installed.

MOST Micro$oft OS's have a [start] button.

press the [start] button, click on 'shut-down' or 'turn-off', then select 'restart' and then click [ok] and it should start the process.

Without knowing the codes for the specific brand names and models of your devices, this is how you program the Zenith MBR3447 for your TV, VCR, DVD Player, CD Player or Audio Receiver:

TV

1. Push the "Power" button on the TV to turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "TV" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the TV's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the TV fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the TV does shut off. Each time the "Power" button is pressed the Zenith MBR3447 tries using a different TV device code from its code library to turn the TV off. Therefore, when the TV finally does shut off it's an indication that the remote is temporarily programmed with the correct device code to control the brand of TV you're using.
6. Press "Enter" to save the current code.

VCR

1. Push the "Power" button on the VCR to turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "VCR" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the VCR's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the VCR fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the VCR does shut off. Then press "Enter."

DVD Player, CD Player or Audio Receiver

1. Push the "Power" button on the device your programming the remote to control to manually turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "AUX" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the device's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the device fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the device does shut off. Then press "Enter."

FOR HTC wildfire
Do a hard reset:
Please note that all data will be deleted from the HTC Wildfire as a result of this procedure. This process does NOT delete data stored on the microSD card. We recommend backing up all of your personal data before proceeding.
1. Turn the power off. If your HTC Wildfire is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
2. Hold the Volume Down button
3. Press and release the Power button
4. You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
5. Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
6. Press and release the Power button
7. Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO

If you selected YES, all data including third-party applications will be deleted from the HTC Wildfire.

Once the wipe is complete, the phone will reboot to its factory fresh state.

Unplug the mp3 from the USB
press and hold the menu button for 10 seconds
release then press and hold the play button
-- while holding the play button plug it back in. Wait until it says intializing, then release the play button and press start.

You can power scan any dish network remote for the correct code by pressing and holding down the tv button(clear or gray button at the top of the remote) until the lights all light up, release the tv button. Press the larger red power button (not the red tv button) release button then press the channel up button repeatly givng time for tv to shut off. Once tv shuts off press pound key and red tv button to turn tv back on, Press sat key to go back to satellite mode.

here. try to reset your printer. this will clear annoying error displayed on your printer

1. Remove all cables
2. Unplug the printer power.
3. Press and Hold down # and 6 on the keyboard.
4. Plug the power cord back in.
5. Then release the buttons....after successful boot operation, try to print.

If that did not work.. you can also try this.
1. Press/Hold down the HELP and OK button..then unplug printer..release the button
2 Press/Hold down the HELP and OK button again..then plug the printer back in. Just Press and hold down the button while you wait for the printer to turn on (it could take a minute)
3 Now release the buttons and power it back on.
4 Error message will be displayed “improper shut down”
5 Press OK to reset the printer
6. Press both HELP and OK button again to start the resetting procedure of the printer.

Now try printing again...

Try resetting the printer, follow below steps

Power Drain:

• Turn OFF the printer, disconnect the power cable from backside of the printer and from wall outlet.
• Press and hold the Power button for 60 seconds.
• Connect the cable and turn ON the printer.

Partial Reset

• Remove the power cable from back side of the printer while its ON.
• Press and hold "#" and "3" button, while holding them both insert the power cable and release the button after 10 seconds.
• If printer turns OFF, press power button to turn it ON.

Semi-Full reset

• Remove the ink cartridges.
• Remove the power cable from back side of the printer while its ON.
• Press and hold "#" and "6" button, while holding them both insert the power cable and release the button after 10 seconds.
• If printer turns OFF, press power button to turn it ON.
• Insert the ink cartridges.

Try this, shut your phone down completly by pressing the power button until the phone is off. And then, press AND hold the home button and then plug in the usb cable with your computer, this should take you to recovery mode, this will restore the phone...

Ps, release the home button when you see a usb cable and itunes on your iphone.

Hi, this is a simple issue here. these switches will fail from time to time. the start switch is unable to hold the circuit, in return, opening it upon release of the button.

Simply replacing the switch will fix this issue. switch is 20 dollars tops.
