Question about Acer AL1912B 19" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Acer monitor the auto config window apears randomly on screen while the computer is running and have not figured out how to correct the problem. It might stay on for only a couple of seconds or many times longer which is really frustrating while working. Its about a 3x4 window and the bottom half is darker and has 2 bars that show contrast and brightness and they are both in the mid 60% range, sometimes when it appears the "sun" square is yellow and the 2 bars in the bottom half are blue then maybe the next time the sun square is gray and the 2 bars are yellow. I hope you understand all this and are able to help. Thanks Dean

Re: acer monitor

Hi, ya had solved this issue many times, the problem is with the switches on the monitor, you will have to clean it or replace it, sometimes a mild hot air blower on the control pannel also helps. but be careful not to over heat the screen, for all this you will have to open the monitor cover to access this switches.. let me know

Processing auto configuration

Check your settings in "Power Options Properties".
Control panel/ power options/ advanced/ under power buttons make sure you have "shut down" when you press the power button on your computer.
I hope I am understanding your problem correctly. If not pls. explain what you mean by and when processing auto config. keeps flashing. Is there a black screen or a windows interface?

Config problem

Have you tried using the monitors menu to move the screen manually. Exit, then turn the monitor off. When you turn it back on the picture should be where you left it.

Display moves when in games

This is because your game is changing your video mode and timing. Check in the game's settings, see if there is a "use default video mode" option or if you can specify the 1440X900 mode manually.

Auto Config????

Auto Config should (in theory) reposition the viewing area of the screen dependant on the resolution. So it fires up when the resolution your monitor is working at is different than the native one (1280x1024), if it's working in windows - set the resolution to 1280x1024 and it should work ok. right click on desktop>properties>settings p.s. also set the refresh rate to 60 hertz.
