Question about Fellowes PS60C-2 Shredder
I "inherited" my mother's Fellowes PS60-2. I plugged it in and put paper in the top opening. The green light came on and the sound of a motor was on but the teeth won't rotate in either direction. I know nothing about it other than it has a cord that you plug in,a switch for forward and reverse and a slot for paper to be chewed up. I don't even know how to remove the SQUARE HEADED SCREWS! What tool is used for the screws for removal and what should I be looking for inside the machine?
Please help. Thank you very much.

SOURCE: Fellowes Shredder keeps running
You should be able to flip up the cd cover and visibly see the sensors in the center of the paper entry(look like little LED lightbulbs) Clean with a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alchohol. This should solve your problem. If it doesn't you probally have a burned out sensor. call 1-800-945-4545 to check with customer service.

If this unit is worth it to you, you can build your own gear.
Here is a link to get plastic repair materials to make plastic parts. This site also will have materials for repairing plastics.
Another possibility is to search Ebay for a unit like yours which has other problems. Never can tell... it may be there.
Make sure you ask for the model of the unit in your search (on the NET as well. The serial in this case is not needed.

i had the same problem on the fellowes fs5m model. i opened up the machine and found that the plastic gear was completely worn on one side.
i just found this website online for spare parts: http://www.wheelermachines.com/fellowes_parts.htm
haven't called them yet. if they don't have it i might try the belzona compound.

there are two switches under the cutter area. 1 for sensing when your basket is full, (sometimes these bin-full flaps get stuck in the up position, energizing the switch) and the other is a switch that detects if your basket is installed. fellowes has modified these shredders so many times, that there are alot of different configurations. look for something that resembles a flap under the head and make sure its in the down position. as for the basket sensor, some baskets had 2 projections on the left and right top of basket. one may be broke. if so, you can "cheat" the switch with a screwdriver to see if thats the problem.

Tips for a great answer:
The majority of Fellowes personal shredders (small shredders that can fit under a desk) are repairable and will have parts available. If you would like to check your model shredder to determine if parts are available, please click the "Ask a Question" tab above, and advise the model of shredder, the shredder's serial number and a description of the part needed. The serial number will be located on the bottom side of the shredder head below the bar code.
*** Please note: If your shredder is still within the warranty period, we ask that you do not open your shredder until speaking with a Fellowes Representative, as opening the unit may void your warranty.***
Fellowes office/commercial shredders (large shredders that cannot fit under a desk) are repairable and parts will most likely be available. Please do not try to repair the shredder yourself or you will void your warranty. Models included in the office shredder line are 125i Series, 225i series, 325i series, 380 series, 420 Series, and 480 series.
If you would prefer to have a local servicing dealer provide repair service to your office shredder, and would like to find a dealer in your area, please see the below link to search for a dealer by zip code.
To order replacement parts, or if your model shredder is not listed, please click the "Ask a Question" tab above to ask us about your shredder. *** Please be sure to include your serial number from your shredder for the fastest service ***

Your Fellowes p600c-2 shredderappears to have the same problem I had, it would run in reverse but would not shred new paper. I removed the 6 screws that are visible on the top assembly, but could not get the top assembly to come apart. There is a seventh screw hidden under one of the adhesive labels. I removed that screw and was able to disassemble the shredder. The plastic trigger mechanism that starts the shredder when paper is put in was stuck. I freed the trigger mechanism and reassembled the shredder. Now it works fine.
