What to do when a message on an ipod touch says ipod is too hot must cool down before use

I have had this happen before and just take it inside and wait for awhile and it will cool down. Dont put it in the freezer or anything because that will ruin it. It just needs to cool down on its own.

My Ipod nano has a bright white screen, and once in awhile it will go perfectly normal and fully visible, then dim back out on its own. I have charged it, reset it, changed the backlight and brightness and...

you have water damage that ruined the screen. you can get it fixed at some places but its more expensive than getting a new ipod, i had the same thing happen to mine. i don't know how the water got in but it did the exact same thing to mine

When I set my ipod on the digital media port the screen lights up white and says Digital Media Port okay to disconnect. It worked fine until now.

Had the same problem today. I turned the receiver off, plugged in the ipod, turned the receiver back on. The white screen came back on again. With the ipod plugged into the dock, I reset the Ipod (menu and center button till Apple logo appears). Ipod reset and problem solved. I'm listening to the music now!

I HAVENT LISTENED TO MY IPOD TOUCH FOR A WHILE AND I DONT SEEM TO REMEMBER MY UNLOCK CODE IS THERE ANY THAT I CAN USE SO I CAN LISTEN TO IT AGAIN

Connect your iPod Touch to the computer you usually sync it with. When you disconnect your iPod, it should now be unlocked.
  • Step 2 If Step 1 does not work, you have to restore your iPod Touch. Be advised that restoring your iPod Touch returns it to the original factory settings. This means that all your songs and files will be deleted and lost. You can resync your files to your iPod from iTunes once you have finished restoration. Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes before proceeding.
  • Step 3 In the left navigation panel in iTunes, select your iPod under the "Devices" section. Click the "Summary" tab and select "Restore."
  • Step 4 When iTunes prompts you about backing up your data, click "Back Up." In the following window, click "Restore."
  • Step 5 After the restore process completes, you will see the Apple logo on the screen of your iPod. Leave your iPod connected to your computer until it shows up again on the iTunes navigation panel.
  • Step 6 Your iPod touch is now unlocked. In iTunes you will be able to setup your iPod. Select the backup you made in the drop-down menu to restore your data files. Click "Continue" to finish the restoration

Hook up patio speakers and use my cd/dvd/cable/ipod outside only

i'm not sure if this will work, but you could try connecting the rca stereo cables from you cable box to the cd input on the receiver those would be analog. then you could use the music channels at least. as for an ipod maybe sort of the same thing using an av cable instead of the dock;like i said i don't know if it will work but just a thought.

    White screen !!

Completely white? No icons or "sad" ipod symbol?

Static buildup will make the ipod screen pale white/grey. If it were a black screen, I'd say update and reformat but static kills the unit.

it looks as if you may have resolved your issue so i would go and make sure you updates are taken care of and be sure you are running the most current version of itunes as well.. try to drag your items from your ipod into your itunes library if you havent done so yet--this will be a back up if you lose access to your ipod again.. good luck
