Question about Samsung SF-330 Plain Paper Inkjet Fax

Machine sleeping even when re-powered on

We turned on teh machine after moving from one room to another.
(A book was left on the panel when the wire has been connected, and probably it pressed a button during the power-on.) Then the dispaly said "download waiting"... no lights or noises..and we waited too, for two or three minutes. Then nothing changed, and we disconnected and reconnected the fax machine. Nothing appears now on the display and, except for a "click" when it's powered, nothing happens. The fax machine seems to be dead.
Is there a solution?

Re: machine sleeping even when re-powered on

Hi try changing the fuse in the plug first. Once you have done this then power in and open the cartridge cover and press the cartridge button. If the cartridge moves then the LCD has blown and will need replacing if nothing happens then unfortunately the power supply board has blown then replacing the whole machine is the cheapest option.

Thanks J

There is nowhere I can find whether I should switch on the Machine 24hr a day x 7 days a week. Or shall I swtich it off after-office-hours? Any effect on the life-span of the machine?

In a business environment most fax machines are left on 24/7......who wants to miss an order coming in because your fax was OFF. However, many fax machines can be programmed to go into a "sleep mode"...this would be in the evening when the office is still want to be able to recieve fax's if any come in..but you don't need the machine ON "fully" ready to print. Another-words, the machine is in a sleep/half power mode( because no-one is in the office to use it )..BUT if a fax comes in then the machine can still recieve it, then it "wakes-up" fully..prints out the recieved pages, and then goes back to sleep again. The details on how to program this function will be in your operators manual IF the feature is available on your model.
The benifits of programming a machine this way are pretty obvious...savings on Hydro, extended machine life ( due to machine going to sleep.) and yet you still dont miss any calls.
Pretty good hey.!!

The fax continually registers as being in "sleep" mode. Says it's in "Sleep" mode all day even when it is receiving and or sending out. How do I correct that?

Setting the Sleep Mode reduces power consumption while the machine is idle.

You can choose how long the machine is idle (from 00 to 99 minutes) before it drops into sleep mode.

The timer automatically resets itself after the machine
receives a fax or PC data, or makes a copy. The default setting is 5 minutes.

1 Press Menu, 1, 8.
2 Use the Dial pad to enter the length of
time the machine is idle before it drops
into sleep mode (00 to 99 minutes), and then press Set.
3 Press Stop/Exit.

Panafax UF-8000 not responding, energy saver light flashing.

It sounds like the operation panel is bad or has a loose plug.

Remove left and right top screws that hold the left and right panels on.

Wiggle the op panel towards you and up, check the white wire harness.

Good Luck!

How do you turn on a Xerox 7232 copier that is asleep on power save?

You should just be able to press any key. You can go into the customer programs and set the sleep mode to 4 hours before going into sleep mode.
If the machine has been idle for more than 4 hours, it will physically turn the machine off, I will look up the adjustment and post it back to you here in a couple of minutes.
