Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

If you had to push the tray up hard, it could just be that the sensor is now mis-aligned and not detecting the draw is closed. You can check the voltages from the sensor to determine if the sensor is switching. Get yourself a service manual for the printer (aaprox £3.50/ $7.00) to help you get to the sensor and test it's funtion. Try http://www.TheServiceManualShop.com or http://mikeburton.tradebit.com/files.php/1003

SOURCE: reset ink-pad counter on epson stylus photo 1400

Hi,

The simplest way to do this is to grab a copy of the A10_IPR utility that Epson distribute to their customers...

The utility is available to North American customers if you register no this site page http://www.epson.com/ipr/

The utility is also know to be available in the wild if you search for "waste ink ipr".

Just remember to scan any download using a virus and malware scanner before you attempt to use it as some utilities contain trojans or similar nasties.

Hope that helps.

I think that It happening due to sensonrs in printer, if possible clean the sensonr inside where you
put paper, you will see roller to pick up page , clean it.
double click on priner icon go to whats priting now. delet the queue jobs.
try reinstallting printer and replace the drives during proccess.
Best solution is that try cleaning all sensonrs you know.

Espon 1400 prob. with vista close the cd/dvd guide. It is CLOSED!

I am having the same problem. I am on my 3rd printer from Epson in 2 weeks.
The solution may be to buy another brand, but I have more in Epson ink & paper than I have in the printer.

Printer won't accept paper

If didn't realise the 1400 had a CD/DVD printing tray but not to worry...

Basically there's a sensor on the printer which tells the printer (and software) that the CD/DVD tray is in the open position.. Check to see if the tray is up and closed properly and also check for any damage to the sensor.

Epson 1400 simply pulls blank paper through when I try to print

I've had the same problem. Drives ya nuts. Found that error said dvd/vcr release something or other on the epson print monitor. In any case, I found that if the front door isn't securely closed. (the front door you open to insert the dvd thingie, the paper will just feed or not feed at all. Once the door is closed on the front, the feed works fine again.
