If this does not work then try to blow near the air vent using a hand held fan to clean the processor fan of accumulated dust.

if this does not work.

then the processor fan has to be accessed to get the fan cleaned. I shall provide you with a link to access the same.

This is the service manual for the product given. Kindly check the "system board" to access the main board to clean the processor fan. Also choose the microprocessor thermal cooling assembly to get access the cooling fan.

For the latter process I would recommend you calling the technical support because depending upon the manufacturer the warranty details need to be taken into consideration.

If the above steps fails to work then the Fan and the related circuitry needs to be replaced.

Kindly comment.

The biggest issue docking is airflow. With the system docked, airflow is restricted.

Might look at ways of improving airflow.

Yes, but you will need a dvi to vga adapter.
Or one of the monitor must have a dvi input.

With Windows XP and Dell Latitude docking station, Dell 2001fp set to DVI, goes to Power Save mode and no display. It works fine with VGA input. It had been working fine for ~2 years.

Update Bios & Video Driver Also right click on my computer,go to properties,go under hardware, you can see hardware profiles, delete the dock profile (while the system is off the dock) & then dock & restart

typically if it's a complete docking station, it uses your laptop power supply and provides power to your laptop and itself at the same time.

Docking station trouble

You will need to dock the closed laptop first, then use the power button on the dock to turn it on. This will result in the output to the monitor. Alternatively, if you have the laptop open, you can toggle between the laptop LCD and external monitor (or both) by holding the blue Fn key (on the laptop keyboard) and pressing F5. Best regards, torgo
