Question about Dell W4200 42 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television
The TV went black but we still have sound. It feels hot, so we turned if off and let it cool, but that did not seem to help. We checked power supply which is all set. It's just the picture that is out. How do I fix it?
We had sme problem with our dell plasma 42" we have sound channels are changeing we took it apart couldnt visibly see anything so we brought it in due to no extended warranty through dell and the problem is the y-buffer it will cost us 500.00 in canada to repair it is alot of money and u can buy a new 50" now a days for about 1000.00 but i repaired mine because i know if i go to buy a new one wit tax and warranty ect and then i will want something extra it will still be alo more then 500.00 so i opted to fix it and enjoy it for another 5 yrs i hope this helped good luck from cindy in Canada

Do you have the tools and equipment necessary to do an electronic repair? These are highly sophisticated devices - not user repairable. If you have the equipment and source for parts then begin with the set's internal power supply and troubleshoot as required. If you do not have the equipment or training do not get into that set. Even the static from your hand touching a circuit board could destroy expensive parts. Call Dell and they'll recommend a local service center.
