Question about Vizio GV42L 42 in. LCD Television

TV SHUTS OFF

WE HAVE A VIZIOL42HDTH10A THAT SHUTS OFF AND YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG IT FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN IT WILL WORK FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS AND THEN SHUT OFF AGAIN

Sounds like your power supply is over heating.....could be a problem with the control board also getting a small surge, but my guess is the power supply.

TV Turns Off On Its Own


Hi,
Standby light flashing is error sign and shows tv got problem some where in its circuit boards.
You will notice 3 seconds long pause between red standby light flashing so count pause to pause and post how many times it flashing to diagnose problem of tv.

Picture goes off


A temporary solution is to unplug the TV for a few minutes, remove static from the glass with your hand. It is important to unplug rather than turn off. If you have a degauss button you can also press that before unplugging. Wait several minutes or an hour. Then plug it back in. If you have Picture in Picture it may be an issue with that and to permanently solve may need a repair person. The unplugging may get you by for a few days at a time. That's at least better than an hour.

TV randomely turns off


it may just be a static buildup from the dust.
open the tv and blow it out with a air compressor.
if that doest not work then the circuit may be overloading.
remember it stores a charge for days.
