Question about Pinnacle Dazzle DVD Recorder

1 Answer

I am not able to capture audio but video is fine. Trying both Windows Movie Maker and Instant DVD Recorder. Neither works. Also have checked input device and sources and recording volumes. Nothing is muted either. I'm transferring home video from Sony HandyCam video 8. nothing copy protected.

I solved this on my own. Disconnected all USB devices and plugged the Dazzle into the USB port on the back. It required more power than the front USB ports could provide. Sound came through fine after that.

I have my dazzle connected properly but when i go into windows movie maker it records the sound of my television but there is no picture?

Hi and Welcome to Fixya,

Did you mean you are recording video and audio using your Television set? I'm afraid that dazzle is not design to used if for capturing or even capturing using Windows Movie maker. Because dazzle device is design to used for Pinnacle Studio program and Instant DVD recorder program only, It is not supported to used for both of them. That is the reason why there is no Picture while recording.

I need a picture of how to hook up the dazzle to the vcr

If your trying to capture from a vcr make sure that the cables "composite are connected at the back make sure it is plug in to the video out.

Next, connect the cables directly to the dazzle.

make sure that the vcr is on and it is playing.

In the program Instant DVD Recorder please go to the step 1 select the dazzle as your video source not pinnacle file capture.

Then click option check the VHS input.
Video input must be composite if your using the composite
Audio input must be the dazzle.

Windows Movie Maker

A lot of times Dazzle provides a calibration program for video and sound. See if you can run that.

There usually is a seperate audio capture control. If you go to your sound mixer and check the recording settings, is the audio capture from the Dazzle selected?
