Memory cards can be protected so that the card can only be used as read only memory, in order to avoid being wiped out, what you must do is re format the memory card then it should work

When i try to take a picture, the camera says Card Protected and i can't take a picture. How do i fix it?

Take a look at the memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

When you take the card out, you are storing the pictures on the camera's extremely small internal memory. Is the slide switch on the side of the card in the unlocked position?
