Question about Sony Televison & Video
I have a Trinitron KV-40XBR800. When I plug it up the red light flashes and it makes a clicking sound, but will not turn on. I have read that the capacitors are known for going bad in these models, and have been told that that is probably the problem with my set, but was wondering if anyone knows which capacitors, where are they on the board, and what the cost of these would be? I have the knowledge skills and tools to fix the TV, just need to know where to look to find the capacitor I need to replace. Thanks.
The indicator lamp flashes a determined amount of times then there is a pause, then lights the same amount of times again, by what you describe there is a power supply or a deflection circuit problem.
