In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Unplug everything! There is a "breaker" in the power supply and it may need to be reset. Just unplug all cables from the TV and outlets. Let it sit for a couple hours then plug everything back in and it should work fine. If not then the power supply has shorted out due to a strong power surge. You can claim it under your home owners insurance or call Nintendo and try to get it replaced. Thanks! Good luck and happy gaming!!

Hello illeanaceres,
I'm sorry to hear about the bad news, I had something similar happen to me around a month ago.
Honestly there is not much you can do if it is damaged due to a power surge. Resetting it would be the normal procedure.
Surge protectors only protect equipment up to a certain amount of joules. Basically if the lightning is powerful enough it can damage electronics with that initial surge. You should replace your surge protectors every few years if it is 2-3 years old then it may not be as effective.
Post back if you have anymore questions or comments. Thank you for choosing Fixya!

I do not think that cause by power surge, and it is on manufactory warranty, you better to call Sony.
SOURCE: after a power outage, my wii will not turn on
You can try a new AC adapter. If that does not work,it will need to be repaired by a Nintendo authorized center.(I used to work at one).If you do by a new one PLEASE buy Nintendo brand. The "off" brands usually end up in some kind of problem down the road.
Good luck and agme on!

I am someone who knows these sets very well.
One of two things should be seen:
If when you turn set on it does not come on----DOES THE POWER LIGHT BLINK IN A SEQUENCE?
Most common in this model are 3 blinks, pause 3 blinks forever.
Next is 5 blinks 5 blinks etc forever.
Does your power light blink/
Also, I know this model but what year/month was it made? Date will be on a label on the back.
I helped someone else today here with a similar problem.
In his case the set came on and after a few minutes he saw a faint top to bottom band of noise to the right of center in the screen, the rest was black.
The more you tell me, the better I can direct you.
Regards, SD TECH
