SOURCE: no picture on my sony kds-50a3000 red blinking light at lamp spot

If by noise, you mean a loud, audible pop--then it's your lamp that imploded.

You should be able to just pop off the cover on the side (right side if you are facing the front of the set), remove the internal lamp cover (if present) and yank (I mean, gently pull) out your lamp.

Look for all the bright particles of glass inside your newly imploded lamp. Replace with a Sony original, as these sets can chew through generic lamps very fast.

Now, if by noise you mean something else, please elaborate.

The STANDBY light will flash if the television detects an issue within the television. Some of these issues can be resolved simply by following the steps below to reset the television.
If the issue is still unresolved after following all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required . Please note the number of times the STANDBY light flashes and relay that information to the service center.

  1. Turn off the television. Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
  2. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
  3. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
  4. Turn on the television.

SOURCE: TV doesn't turn on

If it does not give a picture at all not even for a moment, i would suspect a bad power supply, the circuit has quite a few components and either one of those could be giving you trouble.

I went to another tech site and saw a suggestion to unplug the TV for a couple hours and then plug back in to see if this helped, but they also indicated this could be a serious power problem. I was really concerned, but tried it and it worked! I think it was running some kind of diagnostics after the new lamp was placed. Back up and running!

My Sony KDS-60A3000 randomly turns off, then the red "Power LED" blinks three times repeatedly (not "Lamp LED"). We turn it back on, the process repeats again between 20-60 minutes.

3 blinks of Standby/power LED of Sony sets denotes a SMPS board [G-board] failure. . Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

5 blinks sony kds-60a3000

5 Blinks on this unit is not your lamp. Your lamp driver aka ballast is the problem. Very small chance that the G board is defective but I doubt it.

Picture flickers on Sony HDTV

Hi,It seems your ballast(board that powers light bulb) is going weak. The ballast was used to provide a lower voltage because lamp didn't use as much as brand new one. A newer one takes more voltage and when ballast doesn't provide as much power it will flicker or produce a dimmer image.I found the one for your tv here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/1091041-KDS-60A3000-p/1091041.htm?Click=48173 Good luck and God bless you!

60A3000 replaced bulb and get red light 6 flashes

Hello,

The 6X blink is not the seating of the lamp. The blinking pattern is saying that the door to the lamp chamber is not on properly. Because the fan draws air across the lamp to cool it, the door has to be in place and properly latched for it to do so. I would take the door off, then carefully put it back on so that it does not bind up (which is common on this model). Make sure that the sliding latch goes all the way to the right, and that the screw that holds the latch is tightened hand-tight.

If you are still having problems, then it might be due to a damaged or defective lamp-door switch, which will require an authorized service tech to look at it (only because there are several very delicate parts to this TV that a tech has to be aware of).

I hope this helps you...
