I am running OSX 10.5.6 as my main OS and might be able to help you with this formatting issue. What you want to do is plug your card reader and your card into your Mac. Then go to the spotlight search on the top right of the screen and find Disk Utility.
****WARNING****
Be 110% sure you are selecting the correct drive in the Disk Utility app. If you delete the wrong drive you WILL LOSE DATA and/or cause your Mac to stop working. Just be sure you are selecting the card and not your hard drive.
****WARNING****
Once in Disk Utility you SHOULD see your card in on the left hand menu. Select the card and right click on it to select delete. This will delete all the partition data on your card and allow you to make a new working one. Once it is deleted right click it again and this time select partition then format in as a FAT partition like everyone has said.

This SHOULD allow your camera to detect the card and then format it correctly to the camera's specs. If you were not able to see your card in the Disk Utility tool I would assume your card is defective and it should be exchange it for a new one.

Also, please note that I am pulling these steps from memory because I do not have a card to format in front of me. Do not worry if everything is not 100% as I have described, but I would say it will be around 95%. The Disk Utility app is pretty straight forward to work with and as long as you are in there and you have the correct device selected it should be fine.

Hi, there's nothing at all wrong with the memory card - its your camera. Format the card to FAT16 using 32KB clusters with the HP Flash Partitioning/Formatting Utility, it should then work.

This normally means the card is damaged or corrupted. You can try to format the card through the camera's menu system. This will sometimes not work and you will need to format the card with a card reader connected to your computer. If you are formatting it on your computer via a card reader I would simply format it to FAT or FAT32. This SHOULD allow the camera to successfully detect the card. If your camera sees the card after these steps use the camera to format the card again which will use the correct settings the camera likes best.

Okay this means that there is a problem with the card. Can you Plug your card directly into your computer? If you can I need you to reformat the card. If you need instructions on how to do this Just ask. If that does not work I will continue to assist you to help you resolve your problem in the most efficient manner possible.

Okay, unfortunately I am a Microsoft Technician and know nothing regarding Mac Computers. I would attempt to follow Brannfenix's advice about reformatting the card on the camera's menu. But if that does not work, I would return the card and buy a card directly from the manufacturer of the camera, to ensure that it will work, or you may get lucky and get somebody who knows how to reformat on a Mac, but I will continue to see what I can do to assist you.
    Thanks

Inserted 4G memory card...says memory card is full...when I try to format the card, get filesys error e00100.....

The C330 uses MMC and SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into SD slots, they are electronically incompatible and won't work. You need to go with cards 2GB and smaller.

Hi there
Check to make sure the cards write protect is off, take the card out of the camera, face the card towards you, look for a small white tab on the left hand side of the card, to unlock it push the tab down, it will be at the side of the card like this 59a6de4.jpg . Put it back in the camera and use the menu to format the card.
If the format fails then its a possibility that you will need a new card.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Older C310s won't take that large a card. Try to exchange it for a 1 GB or smaller. I had the same problem - a PNY 1 GB works fine
