??? is the piece your trying to remove screwed into a coupling. If so use a hacksaw blade ,insert it thru the nipple and cut very gently thru the nipple in several places. !!!!!!! I repeat that is is very importand not to damage the coupling threads. When you are cutting do it a little at a time. As not to damage the threads. If you cut to deep you will ruin the coupling. If you are not sure of what you are doing get a serviceman to do it.

The PB4-60 doesn't fit

They changed the design of the pump a few years ago when Zodiac bought out Polaris. Re-plumbing isn't that hard to do, but if you are not comfortable with it a pool tech or handyman should be able to do it for about $60.

Machine keeps going around in circles jet at back is going straight back?

Few different things can cause this. Wheel bearings can be bad, tires worn, teeth on gears inside wheels stripped or broken, or the teeth on drive shaft worn or broken. Low pressure or clogged line can also cause to run sparatic, but not necessarily in circles. Most likely problem is with bearings, or wheels. Check these closely for problems. Most pool stores with check it and replace parts (that you purchase) for free.

The hose connected on the interior of the polaris could be disconnected. seperate the housing and you will see the hose. Or you need more pressure at the wall. Try closing are reducing the amount of flow to the skimmers to up the flow at the wall connection. Your back up valve should pull the polaris off the steps. Set the rotating jet propulsion on rear to 11: 00 position.

Will the the pump run if it is connected

You can not connect the pump to run 'backwards' since the motor rotation is an internal connection you cannot change. Yes, the port should have water pressure, not a vacuum. Perhaps the wall inlet adapter is installed into the wrong wall port? Did someone change the wall port to allow for a suction side cleaner? Is this a new installation or sudden problem with an old one?

Older Polaris doesn't sweep

If the unit travels normally and picks up debris as it should, there may be a problem with a feed hose inside . Separate the haed shell and inspect. often the plastic clamps finally give out and allow hose to pop off. Also check inner hoses for any swelling and possible slits. If the unit doesn't act in a friendly way then you have water supply issues and/or inadequate water pressure to unit. Check stream from wall with unit disconnected.
