How do I fix a jammed ribbon guide on a Olivetti Letter 32? It won't move up when I hit a key.

Before you do anything rash check the ribbon color lever if it is in the white position the ribbon won't lift.

Hammers missing the paper

The type-bar basket is not returning to the rest position. The lift springs may be too weak (shorten them), something may have dropped inside the machine to jam the basket, or the up-stop for the basket may need adjusting.
