they have videos on Youtube on how to hook Sega genesis version 1 2 and 3 consoles on up to a flat screen tv or any of the newer TV's. I just use a CRT style TV they are much easier to hook up old consoles too. Just buy a CRT tv type then.

Man I haven't seen an actual Sega Genesis console in years. Anyways...
1) Make sure that everything is plugged into your system properly. 2) Check you make sure your TV is on the right channel 3) Check to make sure the fan is at least powering up when you turn on the Genesis. If it is then the Genesis is working. 4) Plug something else into the TV to make sure it works.
Remember, HDTVs and LCDs and this whole Al Gore's Gone Green thing wasn't around when they made the Sega Genesis, so conventional means to playing a Sega aren't your best option. Don't plug it into the wall either, make sure you are plugging it into a surge protector.
