Kenmore gas range model 911.7388811. Turn on the oven to preheat and after 15-30 seconds there is an F5 code. We opened up the oven and the igniter comes on but then goes off and the code appears. We...

The "F5" fault code means a loss of the relay drive circuit. This can be caused by a faulty oven control, oven sensor circuit, lock motor circuit or loose/corroded connections. See image below. You should be able to access the oven control by raising the top and removing the cover from behind the console. The oven temperature sensor connection can likely be check by removing the oven temperature sensor from inside the oven cavity. NOTE: Disconnect the power supply from the range before raising the top and removing the console cover.

Whirlpool oven question...FSEO on display after about 5 mins of oven operation..beeps continuously, oven shuts off...dinner ruined!

If you receive error codes F5-E0, F5-E1 or F5-E2, the door and latch switch need checking and possible replacement.

The door switch is #12 in the diagram (click image for zoom)...

Hope this helps.

My Jennair jes9860 range has a full size glass cover over the oven door. appears to be attached at with some sort of ??? How do I remove for cleaning. It is not NOT part of the insulated oven door.

The part you are describing should be able to be removed, but we would recommend that an authorized servicer perform this. You may find assistance in scheduling service at our customer service web site:

F5 code displays

First turn the breaker off to the oven and leave it of for about 10 minutes. This will reset the clock and if the erc (electronic range control) is still good it will reset and work. If it doesnt come back on replace the ERC. You can order the part from sears via model number.

Error flashing F5

We had a similar problem where F5 was flashing but the burners actually continued to work. It turns out that this was related to moisture (the problem typically happened when boiling water). Adding a strip of aluminum tape inside the back panel seems to have solved the problem (fingers crossed).
