The copier error code 551 is a fusing thermistor 1 error code.

It can mean:
1. The thermistor is not connected.
2. The thermistor connector is bad.

To reset this error try the code:
"Clear Mode"+107+"Clear/Stop" hold for 5s.
Turn ON and OFF the Main Switch.

If the problem persists you may need to contact your local service technician to take a look at your copier.

I was looking for one hour some drivers, coudn`t find even on original website this model, try to install some different model, sometimes it works, sorry I can`t help you. Or you can download some portable program to find the driver, just download and unpack, turn on the printer and open this program

Find out what shank your machine is and you should be able to buy parts for it. I find ebay great for old sewing machine parts.

The process is slightly complicated ...

1. You need to install a FONT which supports tally marks...

You can get one from http://www.subtangent.com/maths/resources/tally.zip

Download the zip file and extract the ttf file and put in C:\Windows

2. Now you need to convert your numbers like this

1 to 1
..
..
6 to 51
7 to 52
..
..
11 to 551
and so on
which you can do using a formula like

=REPT(5,INT(A1/5))&MOD(A1,5)
in cell B1 with your number in A1

Now put this in C1
=B1

Copy the formulas in B1 & C1 down if you many numbers...

Now choose the TALLY FONT for Column C

It's little complicated but let me know if you can't solve with this.. I am doing a research on this..

This is the part number for a starter that goes on model number, type, and code 31C707-0154-E1. (693-551) Make sure that you look on the engine shroud (usually) and you will find the model, type and code stamped into it. You can go to www.psep.biz and get the above part number 693-551 for around $110. At www.jackssmallengines.com it is around $119. You have to add shipping (around $9). If you have a altenator and starter repair shop near you it will probably be cheaper to have them rebuild it. Could ask them and get an estimate.

This is a fuser temp. problem -- must reset and/ or replace thermistors.

Press clear modes button then 1-0-7 then hold down the clear stop button.
When display changes touch copy sp modes.
Turn may power off and wait about 30 sec.
Turn power on.
If the machine comes to ready you are ok for now.
If code returns you must replace thermistors.
If you need to replace thermistors, contact me and I will get you part numbers and instructions.
