Look on the bottom of the spool and see if there is an arrow point stamped on the outside of the spool, then check if there is an arrow point stamped on the inside of the spool. If so line up the two arrow points and cut two pieces of line about 3ft long. Insert one line into the hole where line comes out and push it until it comes out a little hole on the bottom of the spool. Pull some out and there will be a very little hole (the size of the line) beside the bigger hole insert the end of the line into the smaller hole and then pull it tight. Do the same for the other side. Then twist the spool (like you did to align the arrow points) stop when you have enough line out to reach the line cutter.

Replacing the dual-line on the 15" Electric trimmer - Do you run the line through the slot on the casing before the outlet hole?

The slots on the string spool are there just to hold the line in place so it doesn't unwind while you are putting the string head back together. You have the strings sticking up, you lower the casing with the eyelet holes down, feed the ends of the strings sticking up through the eyes and then yank them free of the slots so they can automatically feed. So yes, line goes from spool hub to spool slots to casing outlet holes and don't forget to pull it free of the slots.

I have a craftsman weedwacker model 257 799750 and need to know if I am putting the spool on correctly. Is it the spring then the spool then the cap or the spool then the spring then the cap. when I put...

Spring, spool then cap....if that way doesn't let the line out correctly, then it is possible you have wound the line on the spool in the wrong direction. Try taking the line off and winding it on the other way.

Weedwacker won't start

Is there an air lock in the line. Remove the lines and insert only one at a time and see if one will take fuel and the other none? Also, check carb float to make sure its not stuck open intaking fuel constantly flooding bowl

How do you remove the line feed to replace with new. Is is scred on or does it have a lock washer

It should be screwed on. There should be a half sphere-like object on the bottom of the spool where the line goes. Twist counter clock-wise to remove.

If it is a duel line trimmer then:

Cut two separate pieces of string, about 7 ft. each.

Stick the end of the line in the hole on the inside of spool.

Wind clockwise onto spool, putting the line that is closest to the ground on first.

Once you have winded this piece on, lock the last 4 inches of line through the slits on spool.

Repeat process for second piece of line, locking the last 4 inches in slot opposite the other locked in piece.

Put the spool on the trimmer, feeding the end of lines through either hole on trimmer.

Before you push the spool all the way on, pull the strings out of the locked position.

If it is a single line trimmer: Then just wind a single piece of string clockwise onto spool. This may need to be longer than 7ft.

Have Craftsman gas weedwacker double line ran out.

take off knob that holds on the spool on bottom of weedwacker, remove spool, there are notches around the outside splines on the bottom of the spool. (the bottom is the end that fits up into the spool housing. there are 2 little holes opposite one another on the spool - one on each section. Cut two lengths of line about 6 feet long. stick line into first hole (near bottom of unit) wrap line around spool. once wrapped line gets short - to the point where you cant wrap it anymore - stick the end into one of the notches - do the same with the other line - insert spool back into housing - make sure spring is attached to the spool and lines come out of the holes in the housing - reinsert knob and tighten - make sure as you are doing this you unseat the ends of the lines off of the notches on the spool and they are out through the housing - tighten knob and you should be good to go
