I have looked at TV manual & tried all the aspect settings but cannot fix the issue. I have read online that this might be an overscan issue but overscan, whilst shown as an option in the TV manual is not appearing on menu screen. TV box has HDMI connection & aspect ratio is set to 16:9 on TV. The input from Kodi box has been set at 720p not sure why & I can see the setting, but no option to change it.

Make sure TV is set to HDMI channel.
Try a different HDMI port on back of TV.
Reset the cable/sat box and reset the TV by powering off both and unplugging them for the wall outlet for 30 seconds. Turn cable/sat box on first, and then TV after 30 secs.
If this fails, check the TV manufacturer's website to see if they have any software upgrades that will resolve the HDMI issue.

The aspect ratio (zoom) button on the cable remote had been changed. On Brighthouse the # button toggles through the zoom settings. It's not a tv issue, it's a cable fix.

It all depends on the dvd that you are watching you cant change it to anything bigger than what is was recorded.
You will have to just watch it like it is. I have the same thing with my dvd player its really thin picture its annoying

Hi Rod,
Thanks for Using FixYa. If its a 4:3 normal TV or a wide 16:9 TV then you can view high definition picture by using the ARC button on your remote control to change the wide mode(Auto,Letter Box, Pan & Scan). Also check its free user manual for more information.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
Thanks
