I have a , DVD Writer840b ATA Device
and a , TSST Corp DVD-Rom TS-H352c ATA Device
I insert a music or game cd and won't read but drive runs and then shuts down with no action. they are active on the device manager screen, I am running windows vista

exact same problem. after picking my laptop presario c500 up and carrying it sideways, the tray opens up, but does no damage. after inserting a new disc or game or dvd, there is no activity. all my drivers work, yet they respond: no driver or no dvd in drive, despite any attempt I make. I hate vista. God, kill me now.
Suggest a new solution for this problem
