Question about Computers & Internet

Quicken 2009. I enter the information to write checks, checks show ready to be printed, but I when I click "print" the Quicken program closes. When I reopen the program the checks still appear, waiting to be printed. This problem just started. What should I do? Thak you.

    Thank you for trying. Your solution did not work. In the community chat room I learned that my problem was that the check number of the first one waiting to be printed was a duplicate number. I hope that you will be able to use this information.

    The solution was not the solution. I found the remedy for the problem from another resource.

First off have you tried saving the "project". Restart your computer and try again. Also make sure that there wasn't an issue with your print queue. Another thing to check is when the print window comes up that you have the correct printer selected. Sometimes it can be switched or a different printer is your default. You can make sure your printer is the default and is ready to print by going to start>settings>control panel> printers and faxes.

    Yes unfortunately because you chose our less expensive option or the forum based option. I have to ask questions to start the troubleshooting process. Which greatly hinders my ability to fix your problem quickly with a scenario like you were having. This will occur if you have any very long security symbols -- it happened to me when I entered some of the new option symbols which can run 20 characters or more. I did not check to see exactly how long they can be but editing the security list and reducing them to 15 characters or less solved the problem.

Printing check error code 7224


Using Quicken Premier 2009 on Windows 7 x64 with HP OfficeJet 7310.

My check wouldn't print and was booted out of Quicken. Validated data (was OK), reinstalled Quicken Premier 2009 (per instructions above), checked printer and driver (was-OK), I still could not print checks (error code 7215 and quicken closed).

SOLUTION: I deleted the transaction I was trying to print, the re-entered it. It printed fine.

Have 2001 quicken running on windows vista. when i try to print the check register, it says cannot open printer. i bought 2009 quicken and started to install, but it said it cannot save old register. it...


Dear Sir/Madam,

To resolve this issue:
  1. From the Quicken File menu, choose Printer Setup, and then select the form that you are trying to print.
  2. Make sure that all selections and settings in the Printer Setup window are correct, especially the selection in the Printer drop-down list.
  3. If all information is correct, click Cancel and proceed to step 4. Otherwise, click OK after making the necessary corrections, and then try printing again.
  4. If the message persists, exit Quicken.
  5. Click the Microsoft® Windows® Start button, choose Settings, and then choose Printers.
  6. Right-click your printer and choose Properties.
  7. Click the Advanced tab, clear the Enable advanced printing features checkbox, and then click OK. Restart Quicken and try printing again.
  8. If the message persists, exit Quicken.
  9. Double-click Add Printer and proceed through the Add Printer wizard until you reach the window that asks for the printer manufacturer and model.
  10. Select the manufacturer for ex. HP, and then select the printer HP DeskJet 550C (or any other HP DeskJet 500 series printer). Follow the onscreen directions in the wizard to finish adding the printer.
  11. Restart Quicken. From the File menu, choose Printer Setup, and then select the form that you are trying to print.
  12. Select the printer you added in step 10 from the Printer drop-down list and then click OK.
Completely uninstall the old version and install the new version. Before install clear registry and temp files. Update the latest driver for printer.

I have Quicken 2009 and Windows Vista, HP Printer


I've tried off and on for a year to try to get assistance from Quicken and HP because my Quicken reports would not print. Everything else printed just fine. It was so frustrating because nothing worked. I needed to get reports to my accountant and thought I was just going to have to hand write the reports. In the end, I took a photo of the screen (with the report showing), downloaded the photo to the computer, tweeked it a bit with my photo software, then prrinted it. How goofy is this to get a report from a program that is supposed to make my life easier???!!!

Quicken 2009 Deluxe will not print on Vista 64 system on HP 5610 All-in-one printer - ran all the usual suspects about drivers, rebooting, selecting right printer, etc. etc. no luck. Seems Quicken does...


Me too. None of my printers worked and each time I tried Quicken crashed. But only quicken had this problem. Then I read this super simple fix:
  • Click Edit from the menu bar, and choose Preferences > Quicken Program.
  • Go to Register > Notify, and remove the check mark from “Warn if a check number is re-used”
  • Click OK.
  • Print checks.

Have Quicken 2008 and HP J6400 printer. Can print reports but can not print checks


Check that the problem is not caused by mismatched paper size, in that case you may need to correct printer settings and adjust also settings on Quicken.

Quicken 2008 is also known for having several bugs that affect printing, if you are considering an update to 2009, that should fix the problem.

Printing check from Quicken 2009 Deluxe


All Printers have this issue printing from quicken you would need to download the older version of quicken from oldversion.com
Then uninstall the new version and install the old version.
all lexmark/canon/epson/brother/hp.....printers have this problem with the new quicken.

Or try calling in to us at 1800-474-6836 and provide us with a remote session with your computer we may be able to fix this issue with a basic driver.Let me know if you have connected the printer thru usb or ethernet and I will give you a resolution that works 70% of the time with the new quicken

Go to print checks and application closes


I had the same problem and contacted Intuit. If there are any duplicate check numbers for the checks you are about to print, a bug in R6 causes the program to blow out. I had some check numbers that were from over 10 years ago that were causing the problem. Go in and tell it not to warn for duplicate numbers, and it may fix the problem. They said it is to be cured in future releases.

Basic Quicken on Windows Vista will not print to HP psc 2410


Symptoms:
This issue occurs after updating to Release (R6). Quicken is attempting to display a duplicate check number message, when the error occurs. We have identified this issue to be caused by one or more duplicate check numbers in the checking register.


Solution 1
  1. When clicking Print Checks, the next Check # to be printed is displayed. Take note of the check #, and then click Cancel.
  2. From the Checking register, click Find and search for the check number.
  3. Edit the transaction(s) to include the correct check number, or remove the check # from the transaction.
  4. Print checks.

Solution 2
  1. Click Edit from the menu bar, and choose Preferences > Quicken Program.
  2. Go to Register > Notify, and remove the check mark from “Warn if a check number is re-used”
  3. Click OK.
  4. Print checks.
