Question about HP Compaq RAID LC2 (010948001)
Compaq HP NC6400
3 Gb ram
120 Gb S ata hdd toshiba
1.83 Ghz Intel Core
well everything happened as the lamp above our table in the living room fell on my laptop while it was running with music... it made a sound like a DJ is scrapping with his LP's..and shut down... after trying to restart it, the laptop could'nt boot windows 7 RC.... BIOS looks ok but as i tried to run the reading of the hdd in the bios it could'nt read the hdd. I testet the HDD on my desktop through the cable from my external 2,5" hdd, and was able to read the hdd. then i took my external (western digital 150Gb s-ata) hdd out of the caddy and installed it into the laptop to see if it would work...through windows 7 installation it can recognize the hdd and see the partitions, but after trying to install on any pertition its not possible...
so my question is what could have taken damage in my laptop or could something be loose?
the bios seems ok the hdd seems ok it looks for me like some cable between the motherboard and the hdd that could be loose or?
hope anyone has a good idea...thanks Henrik

Here's a link to the fireware update tool you need to do the flash: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=329290&prodSeriesId=65146&swItem=ns-9915-1&prodNameId=19319&swEnvOID=54&swLang=13&taskId=135&mode=4&idx=0 As for never getting the chance to boot from the floppy drive to update the drives, try using the ServeRAID controller just to flash the drives then put the NetRAID-2M controller back in.

SOURCE: Non Disk error...
Check the boot sequence in BIOS and make sure that you no usb device connected to your computer and also try to change you Sata mode in BIOS and see if that works.
