Question about Amana ATB1832AR Top Freezer Refrigerator
WE HAVE AN AMANA MODEL NUMBER TM 18 NL AND I THINK THE DRAIN TUBE IS PLUGGED. BUT, BLOWING INTO THE TUBE LETS AIR FLOW FREELY. THEREFORE, I THINK THAT THE OUTLET FROM THE DEFROSTER HEATER PAN IS PLUGGED EITHER WITH DEBRIS OR ICE. HOW DO I GET TO THE DEFROSTER HEATER OUTLET IN THIS MODEL TO UNPLUG IT?
Remove back wall from the inside of the freezer. Some models you have to remove the floor first, others you don't. There will probably be a lot of ice so have plenty of towels and hot water ready. It may take quite a while to get the ice to melt completely, but in my experience it is ALWAYS ice. Just keep refilling the pan with super hot water, and poke into the drain hole with a cable tie or pipe cleaner. When the water feels like it has gone cold, wipe it up with a towel, and refill the pan with hot water.
