Manual sometimes for sale with the keyboard on ebay and other sites, but I have searched and not seen the manual by itself. Perhaps you could email several vendors of it to offer to purchase only a copy of the manual.
A youtube video mentions the chip is used in other keyboards as well, so there may be a similar model keyboard somewhere out there.
Does the whole keyboard not work or only some keys?
Try the following shut down the computer , disconnect the power cable and remove the battery from underneath then press power button for about 20 seconds then reconnect the battery and the mains power and switch on the laptop again.
Did you spill any liquid on the keyboard?
I know its an old post but i can tell you this keyboard is infact GLUED in - getting it out without bending it is not easy. Even harder is getting it to clip back in at the top with even the slightest of bend or warp. The price of a new keyboard is a joke also so be extra extra careful anyone attempting this.
Your Packard-Bell keyboard was designed to work specificaly with your PB system. The old computer came (probably pre-installed) with software and drivers that map the extra keys to functions like e-mail, calculator, volume control etc. It may be possible to make the keyboard work like it did on your old system by locating and installing the Packard Bell keyboard driver and software. Go to the PB website and select UK-Irish support location. From there go to support section and follow the automated support by filling in info such as model number etc. No guarantee it will work but worth a try.
