The back lights that light up the screen aren't working if you computer is under warranty i suggest you have them repair it. your going to need a new screen and

try starting in safemode. while the computer is starting press the F8 key to enter advanced startup screen. must be pressed before windows startup screen is displayed

When you connected the external monitor thto the laptop did it display?
If so then you have to reset the monitor port. Hold down the function key and find the FKEY that shows a picture of a monitor. Press that until you get the laptop screen back.
Try to reset your cmos if that password is from the cmos but if that from the windows at log in box press ctrl+alt+del then the user name type administrator then leave the password blank
Remove any devices connected and power it on by itslef, either on battery or power source, if it doesnt work, it may have bad processor, When they go bad most laptops wont boot period.
