Question about Car Audio & Video

Car stereo displays what is playing but no sound. had passenger window replaced and now speakers (all) wont make any sound. CD player lists trac and song playing but no sound. Radio will list songs playing but no sound. Pre set channels still there but no sound. Window repair shop says it has nothing to do with them replacing the widow and window motor. They did have to remove door panel to fix window and one of the speakers is on the door panel. 2003 Dodge Carivan SE. PleaseHelp!! Michelle

Well just because they replace the window shouldnt have nothing to do with it because the wires in your speakers are diffenrent and they run to your cd player seperatly try taking off the panel and make sure the wires that run to your cd player are hooked up to your speakers

Sound problems

are the cds you are using copys or originals as sometimes the copy wont give you the stereo sound that you want but if you are getting stereo sound through the radio and all speakers are working there should be no reason why you dont get sound through all 4 speaker through the cd as they all go through the same channels and produce sound the same way as the radio the only problem i ever had with sound was that the copys wouldnt give me stereo sound but the only other problem could be is that the cd player in the unit is damaged or something come loose on the actuall cd unit in the player itself have you tried ajusting the loudness of each speaker and see if their is any sound at all if not and you are using originall cds then their should be no problem with the sound you could try turning the stereo sound off and have it on mono then see if you get any sound in the other speakers if not then it is fault with the unit itself this can be difficult to repair and expensive to get parts for how old is unit try playing round with the speaker volumes if this dont change anything and the mono and stereo sound dont change anything then it will need to be repaired so i would sugest to take this to repair shop as this would be difficult to repair hope this is some help to you ........................................

I have a SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio soundcard in my Windows XP pc and in the Midi Music Syntesizer, I have the following Syenthesizer default sets in the control panel: SoundMAXGeneral MIDI and...

Ok right click on the speaker icon next to the clock and press adjust audio properties, a new window will open up with about 5 tabs on top, click on the audio tab and click volumn under sound recording and another window should open with mic, line in, stereo mix/what you hear etc now if you see stereo mix or what you hear put a check mark in the box so you can play music via the web.
But if you don't see it click on options then click properties and list of name's should appear scroll down and find stereo mix or what you hear and check the box and it should now appear next to the mic.
Hope this helps.

My car radio just stopped working? cd player works still

if your cd player still works and plays through the speakers, but your radio wont play through the speakers. i would suggest checking the antenna in the back of the stereo. most stereo's wont even play static if the antenna is disconnected. if the antenna is connected behind the stereo go to the passenger side door usually under the glove box is another antenna connection check to see if that one is intact. if that one is it usually means the antenna itself is not tight enough on the body.

DOES THE RADIO PLAY? HERE ARE THE FACTORY WIRING COLORS FOR THE RADIO HARNESS, RECHECK YOUR WORK. IF U FIND NOTHING THEN IF THE RADIO PLAYS THE CD PLAYER IS DEFECTIVE, IT HAPPENS BELIEVE ME.

Hi i have a sony car stereo that plays the radio only!

what is happening on the display is the laser reading the disc if its not reading the disc your cd player is faulty more than likely the laser is either dirty or had its day, make sure there is compatible music data on the disc, also check all the sound options on the stereo.

All you have to do is make sure the wires are hooked up to the right color and if they are then your speakers might be blown!!

Problems with amp or stereo

check out www.installer.com
this site has your stereo's wire diagram.

The amp wires only go to the rear output (rca jacks on back of cd player)
It wont work right if it is connected to the front outputs on the back of cd player
