Question about Washing Machines
I have a whirlpool LSR8444 top load washer, the timer is working but it is not aggitating or spinning?
Your problem is a broken drive coupling between the motor and transmission. Replace the drive coupling.

There is a protection feature on the lid (a button/switch) that prevents the washer from spinning/ when the lid is open. When the lid closes, it resumes spinning. It could be the switch.
If you look at the lid there is a prong that goes through a little hole at the top of the washer (where you load the washer) if you run your finger underneath that hole, you will feel the switch. Carefully push the switch, back/forth/side to side and see if it start spinning for you. (KEEP YOUR FINGERS AWAY FROM THE BARREL IN CASE IT DOES START SPINNING AGAIN). If so, the switch needs to be replaced.
