Yes it could be, do an resistance and continuity check on each switch to see if one is malfuncting. it could also be the wiring to the compressor high and low preasure switches. if the system is still low opr over filled on refrigerant the low or the over Psig. preasure switch will not alow the compressor clutch to engage, or will try to than disengage quite quickly to protect the system. you need to get a gauge set hooked up to the high and low side of the compressor to get actual readings to know if the system is low , high or in between operating perameters.

I just replaced my ac clutch on my 2001 mercury grand marquis and it worked great, now on my second day the clutch is not engaging and the ac is not blowing cold

The clutch will not engage if the refrigerant charge is low. You will need to find where the leak is (may even be the compressor itself) by using leak detection dye, and you will need to recharge the system. MAKE SURE TO USE THE CORRECT RATIO OF PAG OIL TO REFRIGERANT WHEN YOU RECHARGE THE SYSTEM.

Why dose air blowing out dash hot when in cold a/c position

Hello, There are a number of reasons that may cause your A/C to blow hot air. The compressor belt could be loose or broken, the A/C system could be low on freon, the A/C compressor clutch could be defective or the fuse could be blown, or the A/C mixing door could be stuck open just to name a few.

1998 Blazer A/C blows hot air. When I turn on the air conditioner it does not click. However, hot air still comes out of the vents instead of cold.

You need to recharge your a/C in the short term to get it going again. An auto parts can sell you a recharge kit for something like $30-50. if it stops working again your a/C system had a leak somewhere and you need to get that checked out by a shop or you can inject a uv dye and find the leak yourself.

Ac not coolin

You have a leak .The easiest way to find the leak is to have it recharged and while recharging the system add a leak testing fluorescent Dye after a few days look for the leak with a black light and Yellow tinted eye glasses

My air conditioner is blowing hot air! We tried recharging the system but the compressor is not turning on to allow the coolant in. Also the condenser fan is not coming on! We have tested all the fuses and...

It still seems that you don't have enough refrigerant by what you have explained .Anyway you look at it the a/c system is leaking way above what is normal for your need to get some gauges and place a small charge of refrigerant with florescent dye in it (you can buy this at your local parts store)and use a ultra violet light (This also you can buy this at your local parts store)and check to see where the leak is coming from at connections of hoses and around the compressor. This will tell you it is leaking and where and what further action needs to be taken.

I have a 2004 Honda Accord and the Driver's side

the a/c system may be low on a charge. have a a/c shop ck it. if its low, have them ck for a leak. if unable to locate a leak, they may need to rechagre it, and add a UV dye and you may have to bring it back several weeks later.

1999 Nissan Altima GXE, AC is intermittently blowing warm air. I have recharged the Freon, I have replaced both belts, and still blowing warm air...Ideas? Options?

check pressure it may have leaked out already, also pressure test will tell if compressor is bad or other leaks, u can put dye in system and look for leaks yourself availible in most part stores, look at front of vehicle and look at condesor and see if any obvious damage

1999 Chevy Cavalier A/C blows hot air

More likely the recharge blew a o-ring and you have a leak. When your Cavalier was blowing hot air and a recharge fixed it that means it was low on freon which lets o-rings dry out, go back to the shop and have them leak test it. They use a pressurized dye to find the problem. If it's blowing it's not the cooling fan relay, they may have meant compressor relay but I'd have a leak test done first it's not expensive and easier that chasing unknown possibilities.
