Normal and Cancel lights are simultaneously flashing. Replaced control board but problem persists

    So I closed the door and diabled the power. Then I re-connected the power and the flashing lights went out but the cancel light is illuminated(solid) and the pump starts to drain the unit for a few seconds. Then it stops and the normal light starts flashing again and the system is once again locked. I should note that this whole problem began immediately after one of the dorr spring cables broke.

    Hi again,

    Checked the door latch and it looks fine, the switch works and has continuity at the correct positions. The capacitor has no continuity when tested with a continuity tester and reads 0 with an ohm meter. Please advise.

    Thanks for the Model number. I have been working diligently trying to figure out an answer for you, but haven't come up with much yet. I don't suppose the machine could be locked in diagnostic mode from where the new control board was installed, but try this, make sure the door to the machine is closed, and hit pots/pans heavy or anti-bacteria/cookware button to see if the machine advances through the diagnostic mode, if it is in one. It's worth a try. The door must be closed before the diagnostic test will run. Likewise, the door must be closed after each rapid advance selection of the appropriate key for the control to advance to the next interval of the dianostics or currently running cycle. If this is the problem, you will need to figure out which key on your machine (pot/pan heavy, anti-bacterial/cookware, or start button) advances the diagnostic mode.

    Check the door latch switch. Test it for continuity to see if the switch is faulty. Also, check the strike plate and door closure. A loose door latch can cause these type problems. I am thinking about the fact that the pump tries to run and then freezes the cycle up. This condition could also indicate a faulty motor start capacitor. This can also be checked for continutiy to see if the component has an open circuit. These are some of the things that I would look at. This is a difficult situation to figure out, especially in light of the fact that the control board was just replaced. Just some ideas that you might want to check out.     I was leaning toward a damaged door switch, since there is the possiblilty that it was damaged when the door cable broke. Keep me posted, Good luck.

    I think you found the problem. It sounds like the motor start capacitor is faulty. If it has no continuity, it indicates that it is stuck open. Sure hope this helped and good luck.

Did you try turning off the power and then connecting it again?
If still problem is there open the door. Press the following sequence of buttons HI Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry,HI Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry. Now close the dishwasher door and latch it too and press the cancel button. This must reset the dishwasher.

Run the service diagnostic mode to determine which button is stuck. Start by pressing and holding the Select and Cancel buttons simultaneously for 6 seconds to reset the control.

Rotate the cycle selector knob 4 turns clockwise to the second position from the top and the dryer motor runs with the heating element off. The buttons can now be tested to determine which is stuck.

Press each button and all corresponding LEDs should light. If the LEDs corresponding to a certain button lights up without pressing the button or if the LEDs do not light up when the button is pressed, that button must be stuck or not making any contact when pressed.

Replace the control board if the stuck button cannot be unstuck or if there's no button that's apparently stuck but the fault code persists. Let us know if you need further advice.

Flashing clean light

then cancel..... wait until 2 minute cycle is done.
Then push start to run another cycle. Saw this on another post by a guy named rhinostack and it worked. They said that if it did not reset then either the latch has a bad connection or the heater for the water is bad.. it must register that the door is closed in order to actually start the heater for the water. I hope this helps you as well as it helped me.

Green light on kenmore dishwasher is flashing


I actually had to change the steps a little and this is what I did:

press heated dry
press normal wash
press heated dry again
press normal wash again
wait a few seconds
all the lights should come on
press cancel (should hear pump)
hit cancel again

Started a cycle and began washing.....Thx

3. Immediately after, press and hold the START and
Pause Cancel
buttons simultaneously for (4)
seconds.
4. Rotate the CYCLE SELECT KNOB to the 2 O’clock
position.
The STATUS indicator lights will flash the number of
times for the first digit of the code and the START indicator
light will flash the number of times for the second digit.
The code is obtained by counting the number of times
the lights flash. Example E24: the STATUS indicator
lights would flash twice indicating the 2 and the START
indicator light will flash four times indicating the 4. The
STATUS indicator lights and the START indicator light
will start flashing at the same time. The control will then
pause for 2 seconds, then repeat the code.
Troubleshoot the problem by using the chart on next
page.
To move to the next code, press the OPTIONS button.
To clear code, press the Select botton.
To exit this mode, simultaneously press and hold the
Select and Pause Cancel buttons for (6) seconds to
reset.
if this does not work need to replace control
