SOURCE: Drivers side seat will not

I had the same problem. It turned out that the previous owner(s) had let a lot of sticky trash accumulate under the seat. After the seat was removed and everything (seat tracks and floor) was given a good cleaning, the seat goes up and down just fine.

SOURCE: Can't get the screw adjustment to change the height of the bowl

I had a similar problem with mine - the problem turned out to be that I hadn't clicked the bowl into place corectly. If you find the bowl is tilting forward slightly then you probably need to push it into the clip at the back.

How do I adjust the height of frigidaire side by side model # FRS23R4CW5

On the cabinet bottom front right near the bottom door hinges you should see the adjusting screw for the front wheels. On most refrigerators only the front can be raised or lowered. Back wheels are usually stationary. Also you don't want the refrigerator level. It should have some tilt or slope front to back (front higher than back). This tilt helps the doors to self close from a 45 degree angle.

The 2 doors on my Maytag SXS aren't even in the front when they close. The refig side sticks out. The doors are otherwise level and even in all respects. I adjusted top & bottom hin

Hello Joe;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

This was your first time setting the gap between the doors. So, I will share with you the various ways to adjust the doors gap.

1.) On the bottom of some doors there are adjustment screws for pitching the door left or right to set the gap. This was a good design idea, but there is not locking nut to hold the setting. Opening and closing the door will remove the setting. So, if you have these adjust screws, we will forget them.

2.) Lets try this: Adjust the front leveling bolts. Loosen the top of the door hinges. If the gap is smaller at the top, lower the leveling bolt up on the left hand side. Turn the bolt counter clockwise to raise. Pound on the doors to free them to adjust. If the gap is smaller on the bottom, on the right jacking screw, raise the jack bolt by turning the jack bolt clockwise. Once again, pound on the door to free for the adjustment. Then tighten to top door hinges.

3.) OK, This did not set the gap. The gap between the door is different depending on the model. Determine the gap which you would like to set. Using something solid like pieces of wood (do not use cardboard it will crush), loosen the top hinges, evenly space the wedges and tape them to the door. Now tighten the top hinges and remove the wedges.

4.) Ok, This did not set the gap. Look on the bottom of the door at the hinge. You have a matching set of grommets. These grommets interlock when the doors close to keep the doors closed. These are high wear components. The doors rest on these components. One grommet set may be more warn than the other affecting the door gap

How do I raise the level of my refrigerator door to be even with freezer door?

Thank you for your inquiry, Leland Dodd!

I see that you are having difficulty in raising the level on your Frigidaire refrigerator, FGHC2331PF. I have reviewed your manual and there are two types of adjustment for either front rollers or lower hinge. If you are having issues with adjusting the doors or leveling your refrigerator I would recommend having a professional technician out to properly level your refrigerator. Best of luck! -Matt

Freezer door does'nt shut all the way

If you notice one side of your Maytag side-by-side refrigerator is significantly higher than the other, you might want to raise or lower one of the doors. The refrigerator door is configured at the factory to be slightly higher than the freezer door. The weight of items on the door shelves sometimes cause the doors to sag slightly inward. Making a small adjustment to the freezer door leveling screws will correct minor amounts of sagging.
Things You'll Need3/8-inch hex head screwdriver 1
Position the refrigerator in the place you plan to keep it, and make sure the refrigerator is level front to back and side to side with a spirit level.

  • 2 Remove the base grille, located below the doors, by pulling from the sides. The leveling screws will be visible when the grille is removed.

Looking at the Diagram at the link below it would appear that the only was to remove it while keeping everything else in place would be either.

    Hello,

    Welcome to FixYa.

The fact of the matter of the doors being at different heights is typically an indication the unit isn't level and can be simply corrected by way of screwing the legs/wheels up or down.

If you remove the grill below the doors you should see the wheels and the adjustment screws/bolts. #2 is the wheel, # 3 & 5 are the adjustment screws to raise or lower the unit.

    i.e.

    macmarkus_237.jpg

They are typically a 5/16" or 3/8" hex head/slotted combination. Try adjusting one or the other with small adjustments until you notice the two doors starting to level to each other.

Let me know how you manage and I'll try to help you in any manner i can going forward. Good luck.

Thank you for choosing FixYa today.
