1st thing let's check the spark.remove the plug leave it connected to the wire and ground the side of the plug to the engine. and have someone pull the started rope. watch the gap area of the plug for spark. make sure the plug is gap to factory specs, and hold it by the rubber booth. and the on switch is in the run position. good luck Tom
You must have dirt in one or more of the carb jets. Remove the carb and clean it with carb cleaner spray and compressed air (compressed air is a must).
Disconnect fuel line from the carb and let fuel run into a clear jar. Look for sediment or debris that could cause problems with the carburetor. If there is debris, you will have to clean the carb, by removing fuel bowl and disassembling the float assembly and needle. Back flush the fuel inlet port to ensure it the seat area is clean.
First thing to do is a new plug. Also clean the air filter.Might help? When you take the plug out.Look down the hole to see if there are any scratches on the cylinder?usually muffler side is where they will be if any.I had one doing the same thing. It was blowed up.Needed a new piston and cylinder.Hope yours don't?
check for faulty plug 1st, then pull kill wire off at kill switch, then check for grounding ht lead ,
then pull kill wire off at armature , if still no spark most likley faulty ignition armature
