I have a CS-4400 Echo chainsaw that wont start. I don't think it is firing

1st thing let's check the spark.remove the plug leave it connected to the wire and ground the side of the plug to the engine. and have someone pull the started rope. watch the gap area of the plug for spark. make sure the plug is gap to factory specs, and hold it by the rubber booth. and the on switch is in the run position. good luck Tom

What do I do, i gave my Echo 301 gas chainsaw a tune-up and it still will not start?

Ensure it's sparking -- if not, based on what you've done thus far, could be the wire, or further up the line, the coil.

Chainsaw won't stay running

You must have dirt in one or more of the carb jets. Remove the carb and clean it with carb cleaner spray and compressed air (compressed air is a must).

Even with brand new carburator, engine floods. What could be wrong? This is a model CS4000 and it was running just fine, when it quit, no sputter, just quit. Cleaning carb failed to fix it. Good...

Disconnect fuel line from the carb and let fuel run into a clear jar. Look for sediment or debris that could cause problems with the carburetor. If there is debris, you will have to clean the carb, by removing fuel bowl and disassembling the float assembly and needle. Back flush the fuel inlet port to ensure it the seat area is clean.

Echo cs-3400 wont start . no spark. what are the primary and secondary coil readings?

if you have no spark

check for faulty plug 1st, then pull kill wire off at kill switch, then check for grounding ht lead ,
then pull kill wire off at armature , if still no spark most likley faulty ignition armature
i suspect the part number you need if its type 1 is 15662639130
replace it and set air gap and reassemble and test

here is web site for parts

http://www.ereplacementparts.com/echo-cs3400-type-chainsaw-parts-c-35043_35970_36021.html

or you could try www.partstree.com , go to echo saws , then find your model

cheers hope it helps
