Brown or burnt-looking lines seem to be radiating from the bottom of the screen. As instructed by Sandisk, I updated the software back in May. This solved the problem until now. Thanks.

Download the software after you run the link below ....Put check next to converter/firmware update/Manual download...Go to your start menu programs go to sansa choose Sansa updater follow instructions.......(http://mp3support.sandisk.com/sansa/Installer/1082/SansaUpdaterInstall.exe) here is the link After installation connect your sansa......recovery mode lock the sansa hold center button in and push and hold the start/menu button until recovery mode....Also make sure you are connected to a 2.0 usb the back of the computer is best (the motherboard).... USB mode located on the sansa if asked to change to MSC goto menu press enter scroll to settings press enter scroll to usb mode press enter scroll to msc press enter press menu.....Connect should auto start sansa software..... Remove battery and put it back after few minutes

Battery and Black screen Blue ring: Remove the back and check and see if the battery isn't fully connected
I put a folded peace of paper and put it on top of the battery also push softly but firmly on the Rubber rectangle above the battery (This is the Chipset For the screen, Black screen Blue ring ) and put the back on.
Sansa Not Recognized: Try connecting it to another computer the back straight to the motherboard thIs should be USB 2.0 and see if it will recognize it as sansa or Drive/removable drive. if it does then download the sansa update software and install it. Make sure you disconnect the sansa and connect it when asked. This will update your sansas firmware and add the Usb Mode. Try to connect it to your computer at home it should recognize IF not try a laptop.... link for update software (http://mp3support.sandisk.com/sansa/Installer/1082/SansaUpdaterInstall.exe) download to a flash drive much easier. Make sure USB mode is MSC
Recovery Mode may also allow your computer to recognize the sansa


RESET: Go into the settings and scroll down to reset all, push center button, scroll to yes, push center this will restore factory settings.....

TO THE FACTORY DEFAULTS. NORMAL USERS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED
TO PERFORM THIS OPERATION!
If your device freezes up press the Menu button and hold for 15 seconds.
This is like a power down of the device. Once you perform the reset, the adjustments you made during last operation
will be gone.

when that happen to me i held the power button and the middle button at the same time for like 15 sec then it turned off  try that  then turn it back on
