Brown or burnt-looking lines seem to be radiating from the bottom of the screen. As instructed by Sandisk, I updated the software back in May. This solved the problem until now. Thanks.

After installation connect your sansa......recovery mode lock the sansa hold center button in and push and hold the start/menu button until recovery mode....Also make sure you are connected to a 2.0 usb the back of the computer is best (the motherboard)....

Battery and Black screen Blue ring: Remove the back and check and see if the battery isn't fully connected I put a folded peace of paper and put it on top of the battery also push softly but firmly on the Rubber rectangle above the battery (This is the Chipset For the screen, Black screen Blue ring ) and put the back on. Sansa Not Recognized: Try connecting it to another computer the back straight to the motherboard thIs should be USB 2.0 and see if it will recognize it as sansa or Drive/removable drive. if it does then download the sansa update software and install it. Make sure you disconnect the sansa and connect it when asked. This will update your sansas firmware and add the Usb Mode. RESET: Go into the settings and scroll down to reset all, push center button, scroll to yes, push center this will restore factory settings..... Reset All NOTE: THIS IS AN ADVANCED OPERATION AND RESTORES ALL SETTINGS TO THE FACTORY DEFAULTS. NORMAL USERS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED TO PERFORM THIS OPERATION! The reset is meant for switching the player off completely, before going to the recovery mode.

Recovery mode is meant for recognizing the player on the computer and making backups of files from player to the computer, before clearing the device while updating it to the latest firmware.

Updating the firmware is meant for completely erasing the players' drive and putting new software on it back again.
