Question about Indesit 23 in. DV62 IX Built-in Dishwasher
The Indesit DV62 K IX UK dishwasher dispenser does not open and the tablet stays inside at the end of the program.
I know this problem is not new, but I'd like to fix it by myself. I have found the electromagnetic mechanism inside the front door that releases the latch of the dispenser. I need to measure with a multimeter if the voltage appears (which would mean the coil got burnt) or not (the dial is faulty).
How do I easily find a proper dial position that applies voltage to the dispenser coil? And if the dial is in the right position, is the voltage being applied until next position or just for a 'millisecond'? Any schematics or hints?
Thanks very much for your help.

You have a blockage in your drain pump. Remove all filters and scoop out as much water as you can from the unit. Check in the bottom for any objects stuck there. Some models have a cover on the bottom inside the unit, which once removed, will expose the drain pump impeller. If yours does, remove the cover(usually 1 screw only) and free the drain pump impeller. NB: DO NOT REMOVE THE SCREWS WHICH HOLD THE BASE TUB IN PLACE! These are the screws on the edge of the white plastic "bowl" inside the unit. The drain pump cover will be INSIDE this bowl and will be quite small, no more than 5cm dia.... If this does not work, you will have to remove the drain pump from the bottom or front of the unit to get the blockage out. Oshie

On a D61 I managed to solve this without dismantling the door!
If you look carefully in the hole where the white catch fits you can see the shaft it rocks on. I put a small screwdriver in here and levered it forwards. It didn't want to stay so I put another screwdriver behind the white plastic bit, removed the original screwdriver, and continued to prise the white plastic bit forward until it clicked and stayed. I reckon it is caused by slamming the door. Don
