Take a close look inside the card slot (you may need a torch/flashlight) look to see if any of the brass pins are bent or out of position, if they are use a very small flat head screwdriver to gently push them back into place.
If all looks fine with the slot and there are no foreign objects inside your card maybe faulty.
Also i suggest the you check the drivers are installed, check this in device manager.
Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

The memory is located under the keyboard
Remove batt and cables
pop out the rectangular panel surrounding the on off buttons
remove the 3 screws and lift up the keyboard to access the memory
Dont ask me why they made it this complicated

Is memory matched (DDR2 667)
Have you put original mem in slot 2
Download / install CPU-Z with both modules in and run program to see if it shows.
If all above is correct may be damaged mobo.
This is for your laptop from vendors site.
• Configured with 512MB DDR2 SDRAM (1 slot occupied and 1 available)
• 512MB(min)/2048MB (max), 2 memory slots using 256MB, 512MB or 1024MB PC4200 DDR2 533MHz SDRAM.
